There is no jump racing in the UK at present due to concerns over safety and the availability of the ambulance service.
However, National Hunt trainers still have horses to run so are scouring the programme to see where they can fit in their jumpers on the Flat.
One race that has caught the eye of several leading stables is the Napoleons Casino Bradford Handicap at Pontefract on Wednesday.
Pontefract is the longest racetrack in the country and regularly hosts races in excess of 2m. This handicap is over an extended 2m1f and has attracted 11 runners with at least seven of them from yards more associated with hurdlers and chasers.

Oleg still has a bit to prove back on Turf
Oleg represents Paul Nicholls, who does have some success with his runners on the Flat.
Owned by Middleham Park Racing, the five-year-old has won over fences and hurdles and added an all-weather victory to his collection at Southwell in March.
He has only run three times on Turf before on the Flat, in Germany and France, so the handicapper hasn’t had a lot to work with but this is a step up in class and he is only a general 3/1.
Seinesational can go well if on his best behaviour
Seinesational developed wayward tendencies last season but Bill Knight will have been working on those over the winter.
At his best, last year’s Wolverhampton and Sandown is a decent stayer. He ran very well over 2m4f at Goodwood last summer and is the type to run well fresh so, with stamina assured, is a tempting proposition at 8/1 with Bet365.
Johnston runner probably has more to offer
Anyonecanhaveitall didn’t appear to stay when tried over 2m at Catterick around this time last year but dispelled stamina doubts in the autumn with a string of consistent performances which included wins on the all-weather at Lingfield and Newcastle.
This is the acid test of his credentials, however, back on Turf and on a very stiff track. He’s only four but may need to drop a few pounds before picking up the winning thread again and is only a best 9/2.
Morrison aiming for the Moon
Moon Of Baroda has run eight times on Turf, including two hurdle races, and never won.
But he’s had wind surgery since pulled up at Ludlow and is a winner over 2m on the all-weather so has ability. He’s also back on the same handicap mark as when second over 1m6f at Sandown in 2018 so could play a part at the 10/1 with Bet365.
Skelton first string has Lee-way with handicapper
Graham Lee rides exclusively on the Flat nowadays but was a very accomplished jump jockey in his day so should get on fine with DENMEAD.
Dan Skelton has sent two up from his Midlands base for this handicap but the seven-year-old looks his number one hope.
Don’t be put off by the fact that Lee’s mount hasn’t run on the Flat since 2018 as he won over hurdles in March of last year and kept good company in that sphere.
It was in 2018 that Denmead finished third in the Northumberland Vase at Newcastle and he’s back on the same mark as when successful earlier at Kempton. A good run in a strong handicap at York preceded that and it will be disappointing if he can’t feature in this race at a general 11/2.
