Premier League Top Four Finish Odds and Predictions

A look at the scrap for a top four finish

Premier League Betting

Manchester City crushed Tottenham on the weekend to keep their immense winning streak in the top flight going. With a 4-1 win on the board against a side who many had suggested could give the Citizens a tough time, that challenge didn’t materialize as one against City showed their class and power to sustain their eleven point lead at the top of the table over rivals Manchester United.

So with the Citizens sailing off into the distance and some bookmakers having already paid out on them winning the league title this season, it pretty much leaves a fascinating look at the Premier League top four betting with Coral. Manchester United are showing a lot of consistencies and strengths this season to easily lock in a top four. It would be a huge failure from this point if Mourinho’s men couldn’t get the job finished, even though they made hard work of winning their last two games against Bournemouth and West Brom.

Chelsea finished the weekend three points back of United in third after they edged out Southampton 1-0 at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have had their patchy moments this season but they have recovered well enough from them to suggest that they are going to be seriously challenging for a top four finish. They could be going out of Europe early too having drawn Barcelona in the round of sixteen in the Champions League, so that would help them on the domestic front in the long run and given them a compettiive edge over their others in the push for a Top Four Finish.

The Top Four Fight

So if those are counted as three of the four strong top four challengers, then it leaves a big fight between Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham to get that last top four place. Liverpool (4/6) have certainly found the goals easy enough to come by this season and they trounced Bournemouth on the weekend, but the question is, can they find the consistency? They are holding fourth, one point ahead of Arsenal (6/4) who won again on home soil, but their away from leaves a lot to be desired this season.

Then there is Tottenham (13/8), the Premier League title bridesmaids for the last couple of seasons and things haven’t been going well for them. They have found themselves coming up short in their big games this season for the most part and now with the added interest in the Champions League, may struggle for a top four finish this season. But what of Burnley? The Clarets have had a tremendous season and are holding down sixth and they are a 66/1 shots to get a top four finish while they can be backed at 20/1 to land themselves a sixth place finish which would obviously mean one of the big six missing out.

Predictions

With Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea looking the safest of the big guns to lock down a top four finish this season, who would be the last one to get into the Champions League next season? Our value would be on Liveprool who are 4/6 at Coral just because they generally turn up in their big games and compete and they have the scoring power in them to just get over the line in a tight battle. Tottenham are looking as if they need an injection of something new, while Arsenal can’t seem to carry themselves on the road. Liverpool will have more good days than bad and get edge their competitors.
