This promises to be a fascinating fixture in the Championship this weekend.

Preston North End News and Form – Third win on the spin for the Lilywhites?

Alex Neil’s Preston North End are flying high in the Championship at the moment. The Lilywhites are in second spot, two points adrift of league leaders West Bromwich Albion. North End have won eight, drawn four and lost just three of their 15 league encounters thus far.

Preston have the best home record in the Championship ahead of this round of fixtures. Neil’s boys have been outstanding at Deepdale this term, winning six and drawing two of eight home league affairs.

Since drawing 1-1 with Leeds United at Deepdale last month, Preston have won back-to-back games in the Championship. North End beat Blackburn Rovers 3-2 before winning 1-0 at Charlton Athletic last time out. The Lancashire club briefly moved to the top of the table last weekend, and they will be searching for another three points this Saturday.

Huddersfield Town News and Form – Can the Terriers extend undefeated run to eight games?

Huddersfield Town have really turned a corner in recent weeks, as the club have not been beaten since September. Danny Cowley, who arrived from Lincoln City a couple of months back, lost his first two games in charge. Since then, however, the Terriers are unbeaten in seven, winning four and drawing three.

Huddersfield head to Deepdale having won two in a row. After seeing off Barnsley at the John Smith’s Stadium, a Karlan Grant goal was enough to give Town a 1-0 victory over Brentford at Griffin Park in their last outing.

Huddersfield’s improved form has lifted them up to 18th in the table, six points clear of the drop zone. Can Cowley’s troops extend their unbeaten run to eight matches at the weekend?

Preston North End vs Huddersfield Town Predictions

Preston North End win: With both teams in fine fettle, we should be in for a cracking game of Championship football at Deepdale on Saturday. North End have been excellent at home, taking 20 points from a possible 24. The Lilywhites have not lost on their own patch in league action since Leeds United won 2-0 at Deepdale back in April.

As for Huddersfield, their fortunes have certainly turned around since the Cowley brothers arrived in West Yorkshire. The club had failed to win any of their opening ten league and cup matches, with eight of those ending in defeat, but they have won four of their past seven going into Saturday’s showdown.

Town are in great shape, but Preston should secure another home win at the weekend. Back the Lancashire side to prevail at 3/4. I also like the look of North End to pick up a 2-1 victory at 15/2.
