Group A: Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain, Leipzig, Club Brugge

The expected outcome of Group A in Champions League betting is that Man City and PSG will be making their way through to the Round of 16.

But in which order?

The bookies can’t split them at the moment. It’s a quote of 10/11 for either to top the group* (odds recorded at 21:10 GMT on August 26th, 2021 at Coral).

PSG were losing finalists two seasons ago, while Man City were last season’s losing finalists. In last season’s semi-final, Man City beat PSG 4-1 on aggregate.

The wildcard of the group are RB Leipzig who played their part in eliminating Man Utd from the group stage last season.

Man City 10/11, PSG 10/11, RB Leipzig 14/1, Club Brugge 150/1

Group B: Atlético Madrid, Liverpool, Porto, AC Milan

This is a great group. La Liga title holders Atletico Madrid definitely rate a threat to Premier League side, Liverpool.

The two met in the 2020 knockout stages and Atletico took a 4-2 aggregate win, picking up a victory in both legs.

Atletico have lost only one of six previous matches against Liverpool (W3 D2).

Liverpool are the even-money favourites to win Group B* (odds recorded at 21:10 GMT on August 26th, 2021 at Coral).

They made it through the group stage in 11 of their previous 14 campaigns.

AC Milan were runners up in Serie A last season and are seven-time European Champions.

Meetings between them and Liverpool will renew memories of Liverpool’s triumphant night over the Italians in the 2005 Final.

Porto are the group outsiders, but they themselves are two-time European champions.

Liverpool Evens, Atletico Madrid 7/4, AC Milan 5/1, Porto 10/1

Group C: Sporting CP, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Beşiktaş

One of the quieter groups to come out of the draw is Group C, at least in terms of not having any big headlining matches.

The bookies have made Dortmund the strong favourites at 8/13 to win this group* (odds recorded at 21:10 GMT on August 26th, 2021 at Coral).

Ajax will be expected to follow them through to the knockout stages. Porto were the only team to beat Chelsea last season, in a title-winning campaign from the Blues.

Borussia Dortmund 8/13, Ajax 10/3, Sporting 4/1, Besiktas 16/1

Group D: Inter, Real Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, Sheriff Tiraspol

We get European heavyweights Inter and Real Madrid square off in Group D Champions League betting.

Both are fairly long odds to win the tournament outright, which is a fair reflection of their overall standings in the European game at the moment.

Real Madrid though are odds-on to take Group D.

They didn’t have the most comfortable of times last season in the group stage, so Millan do pique some interest in beating them to the punch at 2/1* (odds recorded at 21:10 GMT on August 26th, 2021 at Coral).

The settling of the transfer market this season could yet have a bearing on the odds.

Real Madrid 2/5, Inter Milan 2/1, Shakhtar Donetsk 10/1, Sheriff Tiraspol 100/1

Group E: Bayern, Barcelona, Benfica, Dynamo Kyiv

Group E is another of the groups which will throw two of Europe’s heavyweights together. That’s Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

A look at the Outright Winner market at the moment in Champions League betting, shows a clear divide between the teams.

Barcelona no longer have Lionel Messi of course, while Bayern appears to be the bigger threat of the two.

Bayern Munich 4/7, Barcelona 2/1, Benfica 7/1, Dynamo Kyiv 33/1

Group F: Villarreal, Manchester United, Atalanta, Young Boys

Manchester United have been drawn in Group F and will be looking for an improvement on this stage.

Last season they were dumped out of the Group Stage and went to the Europa League.

This isn’t the easiest of groups for them either, with Villarreal likely going to prove to be stubborn opponents.

Man Utd and Villarreal have played four previous Champions League matches, all of them ending in 0-0 draws.

Italian side Atalanta definitely rates as a challenger for one of the top two spots.

It could turn out to be one of the more interesting, tightly contested groups.

Man Utd are the odds-on favourites to win the group at 4/5* (odds recorded at 21:10 GMT on August 26th, 2021 at Coral).

Man Utd 4/5, Atalanta 9/4, Villarreal 4/1, Young Boys 14/1

Group G: LOSC Lille, Sevilla, Salzburg, Wolfsburg

Surprise French title winners of last season, Lille have been handed a reasonable enough draw in this group.

It’s Spain’s Sevilla who are expected to be the strongest in terms of winning the group.

But Lille will have a chance as they will fight with Wolfsburg and expect outsiders Salzsburg for a top-two spot.

Sevilla 5/4, Wolfsburg 3/1, Lille 10/3, Salzburg 4/1

Group H: Chelsea, Juventus, Zenit, Malmö

Reigning Champions League holders Chelsea will be fully expected to progress from this group.

The Blues impressively won the title last season, being guided to success by the arrival of manager Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea do have Juventus in the group, but really on paper, the Italians look the only threat. The top two may be a foregone conclusion here.

The Blues are favourites to win the group and posted a W6 DChampions League 1 record away from home in last season’s Champions League campaign.

Chelsea 4/6, Juventus 6/4, Zenit 10/1, Malmo 40/1
