Punter lands a £62k win from £5 Acca

Lucky punter defies 13,000/1 odds for big win

Here is nice betting success story to enjoy. Former Edinburgh binman Glemm Purves hit another big win this week. The punter had won a £10k haul back in August of last year from an acca. But this one was much, much bigger.

Another 8-fold Acca win

This latest win by the 72-year-old was over £62,000 from a £5 bet. He revealed his successful system. He sticks to accumulators consisting of mainly favourites for picks, with the odds outsider thrown into the mix.

That’s been his preferred way of betting since he struck his first wager back when he was 19. His success last august which netted him £10k came from an eight-fold acca. This latest was from another 8 fold acca.

Returns rise because of BOG

Purves initially thought that he had collected a £20,000 win from his bet. However, that tally was more than trebled. That was due to the Best Odds Guaranteed offer running at Betfred, with who Glemm had placed the bet. Capturing the higher odds from that, pushed the winning skywards to £62,226.

One of the selections was De Plotting Shed, which Glemm took at 15/2 but then the horse had gone on the drift out to 16/1. Best Odds Guaranteed paid out at the 16/1. The eight selections were from Plumpton, Southwell and Naas.

The Winners

Along with De Plotting Shed, Highway One O Two, Cat Tiger and Lightly Squeeze all triumphed at Plumpton, while Envoi Allen and Asterion Forlonge won at Naas in Ireland– and Noble Behest and Suitcase ‘N’ Taxi were also first past the post.

Betfred boss Fred Done, who added to the punters’ celebrations by throwing in a bottle of whisky and some champagne, said: “What a tremendous return for a loyal customer. He beat odds of nearly 13,000/1 to win so much from just a fiver. at Southwell.
