Racing Tips for today – Saturday 30th January 2021

Today’s racing tips feature a huge day of racing and we are dialing in Doncaster, Kempton and Lingfield.

Unfortunately the huge day of racing that was planned for Cheltenham has been abandoned.

But there are plenty of top features around with the Yorkshire Rose Mares Hurdle and the Sky Bet Handicap

We open Saturday’s racing tips with this sprint at Lingfield.

MUTHAMIDA is the current 6/5 market leader* (betting odds recorded 18:37 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021 at William Hill).

There was a second place finish for him over course and distance 26 days ago on his latest run. On the back of that, there should be leading claims from the filly.

She won back in December at Kempton in a novice affair and was unlucky on that attempt at a double recently.

She strongly looks as if she has more to come as she is raised 3lb.

BINT AL ANOOD should be a big player in the field as well. She opened her account this distance at Kempton a couple of weeks ago.

She now steps in handicapping for the first in her career. So there potentially could be plenty more to come for her after that minor success.

PATSY FAGAN may be worth a look as well. He was last in action a month ago when he took a crotch place finish in a Newcastle nursery.

But he stays at the mark and has a 5lb claimer to boot to help out a bit. Patsy Fagan has shown glimpses of potential as he looks to get off the mark.

The current 2/1 favourite is MARIE’S ROCK for this Grade 2 affair at Doncaster* (betting odds recorded 18:37 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021 at William Hill).

She was unstoppable last term, winning all three outings over the hurdles.

After wind surgery, she made her repaprance at Newbury a couple of months ago.

Maries’ Rock was hampered in the fixture, so never had the chance to deliver.

Connections have thrown the tongue tie in the hood for the first time. She sets the standard.

FLORESSA looks to be the biggest danger to the favourite in this one.

Nicky Henderson’s mare opened the season with a win in the Gerry Feilden.

She then went to the Christmas hurdle at Kempton in December where she was fifth.

That was in a really strong field and this should be an easier prospect for her.

Floressa has plenty of appeal from 5/2* (betting odds recorded 18:37 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021 at William Hill).

The other selection for the shortlist will be MIRANDA. She has taken a huge leap forward since having teamed up with Paul Nicholls.

Mirand opened the season with a win at Ludlow.

Then after a 7lb rise from that, she claimed fourth place in a Musselburgh handicap. She demands some respect.

He has just come into some great form. On his hurdles debut this season he scored a very good win at Ffos Las.

The second-place finisher in that contest has since gone on to win.

Pats Fancy then went to the Albert Bartlett Novices’ hurdle and claimed a second place there 49 days ago.

So there are big claims from him heading into this one. There should be more to come from him over the hurdles.

ASK A HONEY BEE catches the eye in this wide-open renwal. There has been superb form from the 3 time bumper winner.

He opened with a win on his hurdles debut at Wetherby to open the season with.

Ask A Honey Bee has since taken a place finish in these three follow up races.

He was beaten by pats Fancy in the Albert Bartleet Novices’ Hurdle on his latest run.

EMIR SACREE will have a chance if they can see out the 3m trip. That is a bit of a question mark over him.

But he shrugged off a long absence impressively to win the Ascot handicap hurdle in December.

He just made all in that race for Nicky Henderson. If he is up for the trip then he may very well enter calculations.

But our pick in the fixture has to go on BOBHOPEORNOHOPE at 13/2* (betting odds recorded 18:37 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021 at William Hill).

He is undefeated in chasing and has claimed a double this season in the sphere.

The first of those was here at 2m 5f in November and followed up at Exeter. Big claims.

On his reappearance run he collected a third place in a field of four over course and distance. That was only six days ago.

So he is turned out quickly here.

But the big claims are him likely being sharper for that run and the fact that the Pirate King is a three time course and distance winner.

HYDROPLANE makes a return to the flat all weather after having been tried over the hurdles.

His yard is in form so there are some claims there.

Hydroplane was last seen at Doncaster 50 days ago in a handicap hurdle. It’s been about a year and half since he was last on the flat.

RENARDEU will make up the selections in this race. He is a three-time course and distance winner which gives him claims.

He was last in action 47 days ago at Kempton when he took a nice place finish in a Kempton handicap.

He is on the hunt for a double after going well for success at Wolverhampton just under three weeks ago.

That was his reappearance, but he looked really strong in it.

In his final race of last season Muay Thai was here at Kempton when he shaped well to take a fourth place finish.

He should be well in the mix of things at the business end of the contest.

SEMPER AUGUSTUS gets the visor on for the first time.

His latest effort was over course and distance when he took a third place finish on his reappearance run.

The visor could help a lot here, but will that be enough to see him kick strongly on?

THere is some progress to come from SOMETHING ENTICING who wears the cheek pieces of the first time.

She was sixth on her reappearance run, which was in a minor Lingfield event three weeks ago.

This is the first attempt at handicapping and Hollie Doyle is in the driving seat.

DEEP IMPRESSION opened the season with a win at Southwell.

This is one of the big races of the day. CAP DU NORD has come into some great form and he is the current 10/3 market leader* (betting odds recorded 18:37 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021 at William Hill).

He won in a big field at Newbury on his penultimate run in which he got the better of Canelo.

On his follow up to that, Cap Du Nord was beaten by the progressive 2021 Gold Cup contender Royale Pagaille in a Kempton Chase last month.

But form is strong and he could take some beating in this one. THere is a talented 3lb claimer on his back to help as well. There are big claims.

Even though this is a very strong race, we do still like the look of CANELO who responded to that Newbury defeat against Cap Du Nord by scoring in his next race.

That was at the Rowland Meyrick and he is still improving. That run at Wetherby was on the 3m trip so his stamina has been proven.

We think that he can be a player and he is a 6/1 option* (betting odds recorded 18:37 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021 at William Hill).

We are also interested in AYE RIGHT who looks like a decent chaser.

He was second in the Labdrokes Trophy at Newbury in November thanks to an excellent run. Just before that he had taken a place finish at the Charlie Hall.

So he is progressing very well. Aye Right was thrown in a bumper recently to sharpen him up as well.

This is another of the 3m contest of the day and SPECIAL ACCEPTANCE is the 4/1 leader in an open field* (betting odds recorded 18:37 GMT on Friday, 29th January 2021 at William Hill).

He has hit top form recently to be fair. He was in cheek pieces when he got off the mark at Plumpton in December.

Special Acceptnace was back there for a subsequent race and took second there in the Sussex National.

He is unexposed over the fences, but looks like he can be a player in this field.

WHO’S IN THE BOX has to enter calculation. In his last race he stuck to the task well to win by a neck at market Rasen.

So he should be even more competitive on a shorter trip in this one as he comes up 6lb.

He has been lightly raced, but well handled and Charlie Hammond takes off 3lb as well. There should be a chance for him.
