Is the writing on the wall for Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez? The Spaniard was cut down to 10/1 at Boylesports on the weekend after yet another loss. The Magpies leaked an own goal four minutes from time to hand the visiting Leicester three points from their match. That was Newcastle’s sixth defeat in their last seven games, with just the one point collected in that sequence. The last time that they won a top flight game was against Crystal Palace back on October 21st.

Since then in their terrible run, they have failed to score in three of their following seven and have conceded at least two goals in each of their last five games. Each of their last four defeats has seen Newcastle ship at least three goals in each. They have tough remainder for December as well with games against Arsenal and Manchester City coming up.

Boylesports spokesperson, Aoife Heffron, said: “Benitez knew it would be a tough task to revive a fleeting Newcastle and once again the club’s relegation concerns are becoming all too real.

“Having failed to record a win since October, Rafa could be joining the long list of managers given their P45, which is currently priced at 10/1 that he will be the next manager axed in the Premier League.”

The Magpies have also been moved in from a price of 9/2 down to 3/1 at Boylesports to suffer Premier League relegation this season as that has become a reality because of their slump. Swansea’s Paul Clement remains the Premier League Next Manager To Leave favourite at 11/10, with Stoke boss Mark Hughes having received a lot of attention recently as the Potters have slipped back towards the drop zone as well.
