Real Madrid v Alaves Betting Preview – La Liga 24th February 3.15pm

Real Madrid moved up to third in La Liga with a win out at Leganes in midweek which continued a decent steak of form that they are on. However, they still couldn’t keep a clean sheet. They host Alaves on Saturday, but as they have no chance of winning La Liga, they are just collecting points to try and push for second place.

Real Madrid v Alaves Betting Tips

It is a three-match winning streak that Real Madrid are on right now after beating Leganes in midweek. That is a six-match undefeated streak of league form (W5 D1) that they are on overall though so they have really been going much better than they did over the first half of the season. The notable difference is they are scoring a lot more goals than they were earlier in the season. Real Madrid have scored at least three goals in five of their last six games but they are still bumbling along at the back without a clean sheet in ages. It’s a nine-match streak without a clean sheet they are on at the moment and both teams to score at Betfair for 5/6 odds should appeal* (Betting Odds taken at 11:20 p.m. on February 21st, 2018). Los Merengues are now W7 D2 L3 for the season at the Bernabeu in the Spanish top flight, winning their last two there and scoring twelve goals in the process. They have averaged 2.5 goals per home game this season despite the troubles that they have had. Cristiano Ronaldo is the top scorer for them with a twelve goal haul, eight of them at home.

Out of nowhere, Alaves are on a three-match winning sequence of form in the league, the notable win the run being an away victory at Villarreal in their last road game. Two of their last four wins in the league now have been against top six sides. This is the same side which lost all but two of their first thirteen league games of the season and they have done so well to turn things around. Their away form isn’t great though, reading at just W3 L8 out on the road and their recent win at Villarreal snapped a three match losing streak they were on away from home. Goals have been hard to come by for them and they have returned just the nine away goals all season and they have conceded in each of their last seven on the road. In the Betfair correct score market, the shortest-priced option available is a 3-0 win for the home side, but a Real Madrid 3-1 scoreline at 10/1 represents a bit of value for the game* (Betting Odds taken at 11:20 p.m. on February 21st, 2018). It’s unlikely that they will get a win, but they will target a point, which would probably feel like a win for them.

Real Madrid v Alaves Head to Head

Real Madrid boss the head to head against Alaves as you would expect. They are on an eight-match winning streak against them and they have scored at least three goals in seven of those eight games. The exception was a 2-1 win for them out at Alaves earlier this season. Overall Real Madrid are W12 D2 L1 against Alaves from all previous meetings.

Real Madrid v Alaves Predictions

Real Madrid should be heavily fancied to go and get a win in this one, but have a flutter on both teams to score as well, just because Alavez are in a bit of form and it’s worth considering while Madrid are a little bit all over the place at the back.
