Real Madrid News and Form

After their sticky form over the first half of the season, things have been on the up for Real Madrid recently. They have won four of their last six games across all competitions (D1 L1). They opened the scoring at the Nou Camp in the first leg of this tie. Lucas Vazquez got that opener in what turned out to be a pretty even contest really. Real Madrid started some of their regulars on the bench for that first leg it is worth noting. Barca didn’t start Lionel Messi though.

Real Madrid have won eight of their last ten games played in all competitions now. However, they have been far from watertight at the back. They have only managed the one clean sheet in their last nine in all competitions. So that could be the one vulnerability that they are showing going into his one. In their last home game, they suffered a shock loss in the league against Girona. Real Madrid have produced at least two goals in all but one of their last five home games.

Barcelona News and Form

Barcelona haven’t been showing the strongest form as of late really. They have actually been struggling just a little bit in front of goal. Before putting four goals past Sevilla in a league win on the weekend, Barcelona had scored just two goals in four games in all competitions. In their 4-2 win at Sevilla, Lionel Messi got a hattrick in that game and Luis Suarez managed to snap a five-match scoreless streak of form that he was on for them as well.

Barcelona had to mount a comeback in the last round of the Copa del Rey after having lost the first leg of their tie at Levante. The Catalans are the current reigning champions, having won each of the last four editions of the cup actually. Barcelona are W2 D2 L2 in their last six games out on their travels, which is clearly them below their best. Barcelona have scored in just two of their last five away from the Nou Camp. To their credit though they have three clean sheets in their last four on the road in all competitions. It’s all to play for.

Real Madrid v Barcelona Predictions

Real Madrid To Qualify: You can expect some kind of fightback from Barcelona, but they haven’t look as sharp as they usually are. They have had their troubles on the road recently, so because of home advantage, Real Madrid To Qualify looks good.
