Real Madrid v Betis Betting Preview – La Liga 20th September 9.00pm

Real Madrid snapped their two match drawing streak in the Spanish top flight as they took a win at Real Sociedad on Sunday. That will have eased the pressure a little bit and now they can look forward to trying to take their first league win at the Bernabeu for the season. Things haven’t gone to plan there for them so far, but with Real Betis having lost both of their away games this season including one at the Nou Camp against Barcelona, odds-on favourites Madrid should deliver.

Real Madrid v Betis Betting Tips

Will Real Madrid be able to get their first home win of the season on the board at the Bernabeu in the league? So far they have posted a W2 D2 record for the season but the dropped points came at home in back to back draws with Valencia and Levante. They may find the going just a little bit easier in this one, although they were behind in both of those home draws and so had to fight back in them. They rediscovered their winning touch with a 3-1 away win at Real Sociedad and Gareth Bale scored a stunning goal in the game. The Welshman is up at a price of 4/6 in the William Hill anytime goalscorer market, but as a boost, Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo returns from his suspension. Ronaldo is the 2/1 William Hill first goalscorer favourite and this will be his first league outing of the season. That’s because he pushed a referee in the Spanish Super Cup and got a hefty ban. Last season, Madrid edged out a 2-1 home win over Betis and that has been the scoreline in two for the last three between these at the Bernabeu. In the William Hill Correct Score market a Real Madrid 2-1 is an 11/1 price with a 2-0 victory for them at 10/1.

Betis have produced a W2 L2 record for this season in the Spanish top flight and the defeats both happen away from home. One of the defeats that Betis suffered was a 2-0 loss at Barcelona and the other was at Villarreal. They weren’t the easiest of away games for Betis to be fair to them, and neither, of course, is this. In the anytime goalscorer market they have Joaquin at 9/2 and Sergio Leon at 11/4 as the main options for them. Last season, Betis finished in the bottom half of the table last season and they suffered badly out on the road in putting up a W4 D2 L13 record. They can’t exactly take away much confidence either from their head to head record with Madrid as Betis have won just one of their last twelve games against Real Madrid (W1 D1 L10). They have scored in ten of those twelve games against Madrid though and taking that into consideration as well as the goals that the home side have conceded at the Bernabeu so far, both teams to score at William Hill fetches a tempting price of 7/10. It’s unlikely though that Betis will get too close to pulling off a shock win.

Real Madrid v Betis Predictions

Real Madrid to win: Clearly, no value in backing the home side in the match outright and they should get that elusive home win on the board. The best way to approach this would be to back the home side to win to nil, with Betis having fired blanks at Barcelona already this term.
