Real Madrid v Sevilla Betting Preview – La Liga 9th December 3.15pm

This top five clash in La Liga sees the two clubs level on points which makes this a huge three points which are up for grabs at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid have been really patchy this season in the Spanish top flight and misfired again last weekend as they played out a 0-0 draw at the struggling Athletic Bilbao. Sevilla are doing well with a three match winning streak going and they have the defence which could frustrate the reigning champions.

Real Madrid v Sevilla Betting Tips

Los Merengues had yet another stumble in their La Liga title defences weekend, being held to a 0-0 draw out at the struggling Athletic Bilbao, who are sitting just above the relegation zone. Real Madrid go into the weekend eight points behind leaders Barcelona and they will be feeling a bit of pressure in this one as they are level on points with Sevilla, but are above them on goal difference. Real Madrid have improved their home form drastically this season and are now W4 D2 L1 after winning their last four on the bounce at the Bernabeu. They have netted at least two goals in each of those four wins as well but with Sevilla being a pretty handy defensive side, then under 3.5 goals with William Hill at a quote of 6/5 looks tremendous value for the fixture. To back that up, Real Madrid have now conceded in just two of their last six league games so have stepped it up defensively.

Real Madrid to win to nil with William Hill is a 2/1 punt and running the correct score market a 2-0 victory for the home side return a price of 10/1 while there is 14/1 odds on them picking up a narrow 1-0 win. Cristiano Ronaldo, who just won the Ballon d’Or has only the two league goals for the season, so Marco Asensio, who has two goals in his last three home games in the Spanish top flight looks a good 8/11 anytime goalscorer option. Even though he hasn’t been his usual prolific self, Cristiano Ronaldo is still the 9/4 first goalscorer favourite. This will be their biggest test on home soil since meeting Valencia in their first home game of the season (2-2 draw). So they will likely be pushed hard in this one, especially considering that they haven’t been at their best this term. Across five meetings between the two clubs last season, Real Madrid went W3 D1 L1 against Sevilla.

Sevilla have hit a nice streak of form with a three match winning sequence having been earned. That was a good response as well as it followed a 2-1 defeat against Barcelona back in November. Sevilla are unbeaten at home this season but have had some difficulties on the road where they have gone W3 D0 L4 for the term and a win at Villarreal in their last away game snapped a four match losing streak that they were on out on the road. Notably, though, three of the four away losses that they have suffered this season were against sides currently in the top three, so they haven’t been at the races quite in their big away games. Still, they have found their scoring touch lately with at least two goals now in four of their last five games so seem to be stepping it up and Wissam Ben Yedder is a 13/10 anytime goalscorer option for them. The question is though, even though they are playing well at the moment, they have misfired in their big fixtures away from home and they have lost their last six La Liga visits to the Bemerabtu as well, so will they fall short again?

Real Madrid v Sevilla Predictions

The draw will have plenty of appeal in this one because of the patchy season that Real Madrid have been having this season. However, Sevilla can’t match the scoring power that Los Merengues can and they have had some significant failures out on the road this season against the top clubs already, and with Real Madrid going well on home soil, the home side can edge this duel.
