Rest of Europe Tips & Odds – 2nd December 2018

It is an action-packed weekend of top football action on the domestic front from Sunday with the likes of Celtic v Aberdeen in the League Cup final, the second round of the FA Cup and some to top Premier League games. There is the North London derby to enjoy while later in the day the attention moves to Anfield where Liverpool host Everton.

Here we look further afield for some of the top predictions and tips from continental Europe on Sunday, December 2nd. Kick off times vary.

Lille v Lyon – 4.00 pm

Lille gets a chance on home soil to make a big move in the top-four of Ligue 1. They are staring the weekend in fourth place and trailing second-placed Lyon by just the one place. So this is a huge game for both of these. Lille have just gone off the boil a little bit through with just the one point collected from their last three games but they are currently defending a great 10 match unbeaten streak of league home form. They have also lost just one of their last eleven home games against Lyon across all competitions. Lyon, who impressed once again against Manchester City in the Champions League in midweek have gone unbeaten in nine of their last ten league outings. So this should be a pretty evenly contested game.

We can only look for a high-scoring game here. There have been over 2.5 goals in all but one of Lyon’s last ten road games. There is a price of 4/5 odds on this one to go over the line on Sunday* (betting odds taken from bet365 on November 30th, 2018 at 4:30 pm).

RB Leipzig v Borussia Moenchengladbach – 2.30 pm

Leipzig had a slip up away at Wolfsburg last weekend. They are still inside the top four though thanks to a good campaign. They are also unbeaten on home soil where they have conceded just the three goals this season. To put things into context through all of their home games this season have been against sides currently sitting in the bottom seven. So this is their first severe home test. Moenchengladbach are sitting in second place and have won five of their last six Bundesliga fixtures. They scored at least three goals in each of those victories as well. In two of their last three away games, they have scored big victories at Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen, both top-seven sides.

Leipzig are untested on home soil against higher-quality opposition this season and they haven’t been scoring heavily. It’s a great time to oppose them with the scoring power of Moenchengladbach at 11/4 odds* (betting odds taken from bet365 on November 30th, 2018 at 4:30 pm)

Roma v Inter – 7.30 pm

Roma have a chance to make up a little bit of ground this weekend on the top six if they could bag themselves three points at home against Inter. Roma are starting the weekend in seventh place in Serie A and their form has been pretty mixed. They are holding a W3 D2 L1 record at home this season and they did take a notable win over fourth-placed Lazio there. Inter have really been turning it on since mid-September as they have won eight of their last nine league games (L1). The one slip up in that sequence happened out at Atalanta in their last road game. But in general, they have been strong overall with W4D 1 record in their last five games away from the San Siro.

This just looks as if it is going to be a really tight, evenly matched games and it’s a tough call on which way it could swing. The draw looks right at 12/5 odds* (betting odds taken from bet365 on November 30th, 2018 at 4:30 pm)

Alaves v Sevilla – 7.45 pm

Sevilla are the surprise leaders of La Liga as the action returns on the weekend. They hold a point advantage over second-placed Barcelona and they have been in great form as well with an unbeaten W3 D1 record in their last four games. They are posing a serious threat that moment but they will get a good test out on the road at Alaves who are sitting in fourth place. Alaves have dropped a couple of games in their last three though, losing back to back away games at Eibar and Leganes. They have been defensively solid all season but are just struggling with no clean sheet in four. Will that open the window through which Sevilla can sneak?

Sevilla are sat at a nice even money odds price to add another win to the board* (betting odds taken from bet365 on November 30th, 2018 at 4:30 pm)
