Romania vs Sweden Betting Tips – UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifier, 15th November 19.45pm

Cosmin Contra’s Romania and Janne Andersson’s Sweden meet at the Arena Nationala in Bucharest on Friday night for a huge UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier. Spain are already through from Group F, leaving just one automatic place up for grabs. The Swedes have the slight advantage as they are a point ahead of the Romanians with two games left. However, that could all change after this vital fixture in the Romanian capital.

Romania News and Form – Can the Romanians take it to the final day?

Romania have won half of their eight qualifying matches, but they find themselves sitting in third place in Group F with two games left to play. The Romanians have drawn two and lost two of the other four, with those defeats coming to Spain and Sweden, which could prove to be costly for Contra’s troops.

The Tricolours were held to a 1-1 draw by Norway in Bucharest in their last matchup last month. Alexandru Mitrita’s goal just after the hour looked to have given Romania a vital three points. However, Alexander Sorloth equalised for the Norwegians in the 92nd minute of the game.

It’s simple, if Romania win their final two matches they will automatically go through to Euro 2020. However, defeat on Friday will see the Swedes qualify from Group F with Spain. Despite being the home team, Romania go into this matchup as the second favourites, though there’s not an awful lot in it.

  • Sweden are a point and a place above Romania in the Group F table

Sweden News and Form – Will the Swedes join Spain in the finals?

Janne Andersson’s Sweden have had a solid qualifying campaign up until now, losing only one of their qualifiers. Since losing 3-0 to Spain at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid in the summer, the Swedes have won two and drawn two of four.

Sweden were seconds away from claiming a famous win over La Roja at the Friends Arena in Solna last month. Marcus Berg’s goal gave the Blue and Yellows a 50th-minute lead, but Rodrigo equalised for Spain in the 92nd minute in the eventual 1-1 draw.

Nevertheless, with Sweden facing Faroe Islands while Romania play Spain in the pair’s final group games, it’s certainly advantage Sweden in the race for the top two. Although victory in Budapest will do the job, the Swedes would probably take a draw now if offered. This promises to be a cracking qualifying fixture in the Romanian capital.

Romania vs Sweden Tips & Odds

Draw and both teams to score at 7/2
George Puscas to score first at 6/1

Romania vs Sweden Predictions

Draw: These two nations seem pretty evenly matched on paper. The fact that just one point separates the pair with two fixtures left tells you all you need to know. Although the bookies are just siding with a Sweden win, I’m having a tough time splitting the two. With that in mind, put some money on the draw and both teams to score at 7/2.

George Puscas has caught the eye for Reading in the EFL Championship this season. Meanwhile, the 23-year-old has scored five goals in qualifying so far. Having netted just once in his last five outings for club and country, though, Puscas will be eager to get his name back on the scoresheet in this big Euro 2020 qualifier on Friday. At the tempting price of 6/1, take a punt on the Romanian striker to open the scoring in this one.
