Royal Ascot 13:50 Racing Odds and Tips June 19 – Sweet on Setarhe at 7/1 with Coral

The Albany Stakes is not one of the most high-profile races at Royal Ascot this week and probably not even one of the most interesting two-year-old races at the meeting with no recent winners going on to make the grade as three-year-olds.
However, it is a Group 3 worth more than £26,000 to the winner so several of the leading stables have runners again.

Albany Stakes History

The race was first run in 2002 so it was one of Royal Ascot’s most recent additions. Initially a Listed race over 6f for two-year-old fillies, it was initially known as the Caernavon Stakes but run under its present title in 2003 and was promoted to Group 3 status in 2005.

Albany Stakes Predictions

Roger Varian won this last year and also in 2014.
He has two runners this year but Andrea Atzeni rides SETARHE, who overcame a tardy start to catch Cirrus at Newmarket earlier this month.
Her half-sister Inverleigh was also a speedy juvenile and the daughter of Footstepsinthesand is an attractive 7/1 with Coral.
Wesley Ward’s Flying Aletha showed devastating speed when making a winning debut over 5f at Gulfstream Park but she may be paddling inside the final furlong on this straight course and offers little value at the general 7/2.
Mother Earth was second over an extended 5f at Navan but she wouldn’t be as short as 4/1 with Coral if she was trained by anyone else but Aidan O’Brien.
Golden Melody is a best 8/1 and was quite impressive at Haydock and Dandalla may have been underestimated at 16/1 with Betvictor, though the Newcastle runner-up did little for the form at Beverley on Wednesday.
