O’Brien has obvious chances on the first day of the meeting with Mogul and Circus Maximus could get off to a flyer.
John Gosden is only a best 6/4 to have the most winners over the five days, however, and has a particularly strong hand in the Ribblesdale Stakes on day one with Frankly Darling and Miss Yoda. His banker, of course, will be reigning champion Stradivarius in the Gold Cup.
Charlie Appleby trains most of the Godolphin-owned runners but many of those have been needing a run. By contrast, the Middleham stable of Mark Johnston has been flying since the resumption and appear to have a strong two-year-old team. The yard’s handicappers are always worth a second look at Royal Ascot and Johnston is a general 8/1 to be top trainer.

After last year’s heroics, plenty of punters want to be with the ever-popular Frankie Dettori in the Top Jockey betting at Royal Ascot this year.
