Megallan 3/1 FAV in Salisbury Sovereign Stakes Odds

It is hard to ignore the threat that MEGALLAN brings to the table in horse racing betting for this one.

He is a quote of 3/1 to get the job done on Thursday at Salisbury* (odds recorded at 20:19 GMT on August 11th, 2021 at Coral).

The colt picked up a victory in a Newcastle Listed run earlier this season, but that wasn’t his notable piece of form.

The second place finish at the Dante at York is. That speaks volumes about his threat.

Megallan was sent to Chantilly for his latest run, taking part in the French Derby. That race didn’t pan out for him at all, and Megallan really underperformed in it.

Other than that, he has applied himself well against some of the best 3-year-olds around this season.

Solid Stone
7/1

Coral

Could Solid Stone steal the show?

There is plenty of appeal in the 7/1 Sovereign Stakes odds available on SOLID STONE* (odds recorded at 20:19 GMT on August 11th, 2021 at Coral).

He does turn out for last year’s winning yard for starters. Solid Stone comes down in trip following a good third at 1m 2f in a Newbury Listed run last month.

That in turn followed an excellent place finish in the Wolferton Stakes.

That, combined with an impressive score at Windsor in May, suggest that he can be in the thick of this.

Sir Michael Stoute’s 5-year-old has been churning out some very consistent and promising performances and has place claims at the very least.

Duke Of Hazzard could go close

Another with reasonable place claims for the Sovereign Stakes odds of 4/1 is DUKE OF HAZZARD* (odds recorded at 20:19 GMT on August 11th, 2021 at Coral).

He does primarily look as if he will need a couple in this field to falter to get the win, he should have a chance at a money spot.

It has been back to back runner up finishes for him.

Duke Of Hazzard did run with credit in the Criterion Stakes at Newmarket on his latest. That was 47 days ago.

He did also apply himself well at Group 2 last season, taking a couple of place finishes at that level.

Sir Busker brings solid claims

There was excellent progress made by SIR BUSKER last year. He enters calculations at 8/1 Sovereign Stakes odds* (odds recorded at 20:19 GMT on August 11th, 2021 at Coral).

He has been moving along in good form for this campaign as well. That having been said, Sir Busker needs a little bounce-back performance.

He was last seen in the Summer Mile at Ascot a month ago. He wasn’t at his best on the day, finishing down the field.

But a third-place finish at Royal Ascot in the Queen Anne is worth remembering as a strong piece of form this season. Sir Busker has claims.

Oh This Is Us the best e/w punt?

OH THIS IS US is not to be totally written out of contention. He has won at the Listed level and Group 3 in this campaign.

He comes in at a quote of 14/1 as reasonable each way contender on Thursday* (odds recorded at 20:19 GMT on August 11th, 2021 at Coral).

The latest run that he had saw him take the third palace at Chester and this return to Group 3 could be within his sights.

Rest of the runners

ACCIDENTAL AGENT returns after a win at Goodwood on his latest. He moves back up to Group company here after that handicap win and doesn’t look an obvious player.

MUMS TIPPLE has work to do in this one. He was last seen collecting a fourth palace finish in the Criterion Stakes in June.

The overall form of Mums Tipple isn’t bad at all and he won at Listed level earlier this year. This race just looks beyond him.

PALAVECINO struggled to get going in the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot on his latest run. He had posted two reasonable efforts this season before that. But this is a tougher race for him to perform in.

KING VEGA is relatively unexposed. He made his reappearance in a Newcastle novice run 139 days ago. There’s no real clue as to what he will do here after a long break.

PEROTTO has won a couple of times this season, including taking a win at Royal Ascot. He was boxed out a bit at Goodwood on his latest run and had to settle for fourth. He’s not without place claims.

Predictions & Tips for Salisbury Sovereign Stakes Racing Odds

MAGELLAN looks as if he is going to be a big player in this one. That second place finish at York in the Dante is the stand-out piece of form ahead of this one.

Magellan at a quote of 3/1 in Sovereign Stakes odds pulls in plenty of appeal* (odds recorded at 20:19 GMT on August 11th, 2021 at Coral).

The other selection for the shortlist in this one is going to be SOLID STONE.

He has just performed with credit all season and he was in winning form at Windsor back in May and is worth chancing at 7/1* (odds recorded at 20:19 GMT on August 11th, 2021 at Coral).

As for the rest of the pack. The most reasonable-looking challenges are probably going to come from SIR BUSKER and DUKE OF HAZZARD.

But as a big outsider, OH THIS IS US brings a stack of each way appeal in horse racing betting.
