So it is JOHN LEEPER who is the current 13/8 favourite in the Sandown Gala Stakes odds* (odds recorded at 18:53 GMT on July 1st, 2021 at Ladbrokes).

He missed out on the chance of a hattrick as the son of Frankel found things a little too tough in the Derby last time out.

He faded away in that one after being well held in the big contest. But the form before that was very strong.

On his third racetrack appearance, he scored very well in a decent Newmarket Listed contest in May.

That was his penultimate run. The form was franked in that one with the second-place finisher Tasman Bay going on to take second in the King Edward VII at Royal Ascot.

It wouldn’t be a big surprise to see John Leeper return to winning ways after his tough run at Epsom. This is slightly calmer waters for him.

Euchen Glen rates a solid threat

He just gets the preference as a horse racing tip. On his penalty run, Euchen Glen claimed a win in the Brigadier Gerard.

Euchen Glen continued the good form on his follow up. He took a fifth-place finish under a penalty in the Wolferton at Royal Ascot.

That was another big effort from him and while he appears to be back on top of his game, he is worth running with.

Gloucestershire is interesting on just his second appearance

So all that Gloucestershire has under his belt is a winning debut which was made in December on the all-weather.

That was an impressive victory though.

He may be well worth considering for a place finish in this one.

He is a stablemate of the highly impressive 3-year-old LONE EAGLE.

If you can draw similarities between the two, then Gloucestershire at least warrants a very good look in this contest.

Can Fox Tal find some smarter form?

It appears that you are never quite sure what kind of run is coming from FOX TAL on any given day.

He has the ability as he showed on a good second-place finish recorded on his reappearance run. That should have set him up for a good season.

But Fox Tal, usually tripped up by temperament more than ability, hasn’t quite gotten to where he should be.

He was last seen at Royal Ascot taking on the Wolferton. That race was won on the day by Euchen Glen.

Fox Tal never looked up for a fight when it came time for him to launch a challenge in the race. He finished in seventh place.

Father Of Jazz is more than capable

At the start of the season, FATHER OF JAZZ came flying out of the gates, posting back to back wins.

He was flying on the all-weather.

So he brings decent place claims from 13/2 in this contest* (odds recorded at 18:53 GMT on July 1st, 2021 at Ladbrokes).

As for his form on the turf, well there’s form.

Father of Jazz also took part in that recent Wolferton effort at Royal Ascot against a couple of these.

He was down in ninth but not heavily beaten. He showed that he could potentially take form forward on the turf.

Predictions & Tips for Sandown Gala Stakes Racing Odds

This looks to be a wide-open affair with most of them having something to prove.

But that one that looks the best fit as a racing tip is EUCHEN GLEN at 2/1* (odds recorded at 18:53 GMT on July 1st, 2021 at Ladbrokes).

We like that he had the better of a couple of these at Royal Ascot (Fox Tal and Father of Jazz) and that, added to his course and distance win in May, puts him at the head of the list.

We do expect JOHN LEEPER to be heavily involved.

Of those remaining, we would pull towards FATHER OF JAZZ as the one to have the best chance of making inroads into the aforementioned two.
