After battening down the hatches in the early stages of their second group fixture against France, Norway grew into the contest against the hosts. They got their equalizer through a France own goal but then their hopes were torn down as France were awarded a dodgy VAR penalty. The spot kick was put away and that crushed the Norwegians who just couldn’t find a second response. Still, Norway are a very well organised, strong team and should land in the round of sixteen.

Their form across the last two editions of the Women’s World Cup is W3 D1 L2. The Norwegians have a really good young side, so there is great prospects for the future.
