Spain News and Form – Will Spain keep winning streak going?

The Spaniards collected a 4-1 victory on the road at the Faroe Islands on Friday. That is three wins from three in their qualification group. They have only managed to earn one clean sheet in that sequence though which is a little surprising. This will be their second home game of the campaign, their first seeing them take a 2-1 victory over Norway. Spain have won each of their last four games played now, a decent recovery after their shock back to back Nations League defeats against Croatia and England. Those were 3-2 reverses that Spain suffered.

The Spaniards are on a nine-match scoring streak since the start of September 2018, and they have recorded at least two goals in all but two of the games in that sequence of fixtures. Their lack of clean sheets is well worth a mention though because they have taken only two in their last seven. They are likely going to cruise the way to top spot in the group and if they were to win this home fixture that would move them five points clear of the Swedes. If you’re looking for a decent priced anytime goalscorer option, then defender Sergio Ramos has scored in three of Spain’s last four games played.

Sweden News and Form – Can Sweden earn win over Spain?

Sweden are W4 D3 in their last seven games. They were at home against Malta last Friday and picked up a 3-0 victory. That was the second game in a row in which Sweden had scored exactly three goals. Sweden have scored at least two goals in each of their last four fixtures. They are actually in some pretty decent form at the moment though with wins in four of their last five played (D1). They are unbeaten in their three qualifiers so far at W2 D1.

The draw in that sequence was a 3-3 thriller against Norway. Sweden have recorded a clean sheet in four of their last seven games, so have been a bit better than Spain have in that regard. Viktor Claesson is on a three-match scoring streak for Sweden at the moment. They were in a tricky Nations League group which they topped over Russia and Turkey, so they will be going up to the top tier of the competition next time around. Sweden took a W2 D1 L1 record from that group, taking four-points on the road and not conceding on their travels.

Spain v Sweden Predictions

Spain to win: While Spain should collect all points on home soil, their defence hasn’t been rock solid for a while now. So that should allow the Swedes to get something on the board in this one as they are shaping up well at the moment. Spain to win & both teams to score.
