Spain vs Malta Betting Tips – UEFA Euro 2020 Qualifier, 15th November 19.45pm

Roberto Moreno’s Spain welcome Ray Farrugia’s Malta to the Ramon de Carranza in Cadiz for a UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier on Friday night. The Spaniards are already through to the Euro 2020 finals after taking 20 points from a possible 24. La Roja will now want to win Group F, and they have two chances to do so. Malta are the huge underdogs in this one, but can Farrugia’s men spring a surprise in Cadiz?

Spain News and Form – Easy win for La Roja?

Spain booked their spot in the Euro 2020 finals with a 1-1 draw with Sweden at the Friends Arena last month. Rodrigo’s goal in the second minute of stoppage time gave Lo Roja the point they needed in Solna.

The Spaniards had won their opening six group games, but they have taken just two points from their last two. Before drawing in Sweden, Moreno’s men were held to a 1-1 draw by Norway in Oslo, with Bournemouth’s Josh King scoring a 94th-minute equaliser in the Ullevaal Stadion.

Spain head into this Euro 2020 qualifying game in excellent form. Before drawing their last two 1-1, the three-time European champions had won seven on the spin since falling to back-to-back UEFA Nations League defeats to England and Croatia a year ago. Spain’s unbeaten run should continue on Friday, as the home team are the overwhelming favourites to pick up all three points in Cadiz.

Key-Facts – Spain vs Malta

  • Malta have lost each of their last seven games
  • The Spaniards have drawn their last two, with both games ending 1-1

Malta News and Form – Heavy defeat on the cards for the Maltese?

Malta were eliminated from the group a while ago, as they have taken just three points from an available 24. However, the Reds can still finish ahead of Faroe Islands, who also only have three points to their name. After facing Spain in Cadiz, Malta’s campaign ends with a game against Norway in Ta’ Qali on Monday night.

Malta’s one and only qualifying win came against the Faroes back in March. A strike from Kyrian Nwoko and a Steve Borg own goal put the Falcons 2-0 up in the National Stadium, with Jakup Thomsen’s 98th-minute effort being no more than a consolation goal for Faroe Islands.

The Maltese will be hoping to keep the scoring as low as possible on Friday. However, they are coming up against a Spanish side who have won their last four on home soil. Malta could be in for a long night in Cadiz.

Spain vs Malta Predictions

Spain win: La Furia Roja are still undefeated under Moreno. Having already booked their position in the Euro 2020 finals, the only thing left for Spain to do is to win Group F. They only need one point from either of their last two, but Moreno’s team will be targeting two victories from their final games. After playing Malta in Cadiz, Spain end their campaign with a fixture with Romania at the Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid next week.

Spain only managed a 2-0 win when the pair met in Malta, but I can see them picking up a far bigger margin of victory in this one. Have a punt on the home side to win -4 at 8/11. Spain will also want to win both halves of this one, which is available at 1/5.
