Cottagers to prevail in the Potteries

Stoke City v Fulham Betting Tips – EFL Championship, 19th October 15.00pm

Stoke City and Fulham square off at the bet365 Stadium in the EFL Championship on Saturday. The Potters secured their first league win of the season last time out – can they build on that this weekend? The Cottagers, meanwhile, have gone six games unbeaten, though four of those have been draws. Scott Parker’s boys may be on the road, but Fulham are the favourites in this one.

Stoke City News and Form – Can the Potters make it two wins in a row?

Nathan Jones’ Stoke City picked up their first Championship wins since April last time out, beating Steve Cooper’s high-flying Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium. Despite falling behind in the first minute, the Potters showed plenty of fighting spirit to come back and win 2-1 in South Wales, with Sam Clucas and Scott Hogan getting the goals.

Prior to that, Stoke had lost eight of their opening ten league fixtures, picking up a mere two points from a possible 30. Although their victory over Swansea was a much needed one, the Potters remain rock bottom of the Championship table with just five points to their name.

Stoke have really struggled at the bet365 Stadium this term, losing five and drawing one of their opening six. No side in the second tier have taken fewer home points up until now. Stoke will be looking for their first Championship victory on their own patch for over seven months on Saturday.

Key-Facts – Stoke City v Fulham

  • Despite winning last time out, the Potters remain bottom of the league on five points
  • Fulham are just three points off the top
  • The Cottagers have not lost away from home since the opening weekend

Fulham News and Form – Cottagers too strong for the Potters at the bet365?

Fulham find themselves just outside of the play-off places in seventh spot at present. Scott Parker’s men, who were a Premier League club last season, have won five, drawn four and lost two of their opening 11 matches in the Championship.

The London outfit are unbeaten in six since losing 2-1 at home to Nottingham Forest back in August. However, four of their past six have ended in draws. Fulham secured back-to-back wins over Wigan Athletic and Reading before drawing 2-2 with fellow London outfit Charlton Athletic at Craven Cottage before the international break.

Since losing to Barnsley at Oakwell on the opening weekend of the season, Fulham are unbeaten in four on the road, winning two and drawing two. Can they claim a third Championship away triumph of the season in Staffordshire at the weekend?

Stoke City v Fulham Predictions

Fulham win: Stoke will be buoyed by their priceless comeback win over Swansea in their last outing, but this will be another stern test for Jones’ men. The Potters have been woeful at home for over half a year now, failing to win at the bet365 since March.

Parker’s Fulham are a tough nut to crack, and the Cottagers should leave Stoke-on-Trent with maximum points on Saturday. The away victory is available at 29/20. Aleksandar Mitrovic is the league’s top scorer with eight goals. We fancy the Serbia international to get on the scoresheet again on Saturday. Mitrovic is priced at 7/5 to notch anytime in this one.
