Stoke v Arsenal Betting Preview – Premier League 19th August 5.30pm

Arsenal will be hoping to follow up on their win over Leicester on the opening weekend of the season. They got four goals on the board, but their defence didn’t look great. But they aren’t likely to be troubled this weekend quite as much as they take on Stoke. The Potters suffered a 1-0 defeat at Everton in their opener and they look as if they are going to have some struggles and they couldn’t deliver at home against sides above them last season.

Stoke v Arsenal Betting Tips

On home soil last season in the Premier league, Stoke posted an average W7 D6 L6 record on home soil last season. However, along the way, they were hammered by the Gunners in a 4-1 loss. That was on top of a 3-1 defeat they suffered on the road against Arsenal as well. So they are lacking form against the North London side and having lost their opener up at Everton, things aren’t looking too bright for the Potters. This is part of a really tough opening run of fixtures for Stoke and they have had plenty of backing in the relegation market this season. They lost some key players in the summer and have done nothing to rectify that situation. Over 2.5 goals in the game at Paddy Power is a price of 8/11 and tempting because of the amount of goals that Arsenal ran up against the Potter’s last season. Saido Berahino is the shortest priced anytime goalscorer option for Stoke at a price of 9/4.

Stoke though have scored in just two of their last five league games against the Gunners. Arsenal were a bit shocking in defence in their 4-3 opening victory against Leicester. They won’t be happy about their defence, but to their credit, they didn’t give up and fought back to claim all three points. Alexandre Lacazette was on the scoresheet for them and he is a 20/21 First Goalscorer option at Paddy Power for this one with Olivier Giroud at 13/10. Arsenal have plenty in attack and given the fact that they haven’t conceded much against Stoke lately an Arsenal to win to nil bet is a price of 11/5 and that could have some appeal. The Gunners are unbeaten in their last five Premier League games against the Potters now with a W4 D1 record going against them. So they are the clear favorites to land the win in and in the Paddy Power correct score market an Arsenal 1-0 is a good 8/1 price while them winning 2-0 is out a little longer at 9/1.

Stoke v Arsenal Predictions

Arsenal to win: Punters are not going to have a lot of faith in Stoke because they look as if they are lacking some quality here. They struggled at home against good sides last season as well and even though Arsenal’s defence didn’t look great, back the away side to collect the win & both teams to score.
