Stoke v Chelsea Betting Preview – Premier League 23rd September 3.00pm

Stoke have already proven themselves to be a nuisance against Arsenal and Manchester United at the Bet365 stadium this season and so will they be able to get something out of the visit of Chelsea too? Overall this season the form of the Potters has been pretty indifferent. Chelsea will be pretty eager as well to bounce back to winning ways immediately after having played out a disappointing 0-0 draw with Arsenal last weekend at the Bridge.

Stoke v Chelsea Betting Tips

The Potters may only have won once this season in the Premier League, but they will have some backers to go out and frustrate the Blues. Stoke’s only success this season came in a home win over Arsenal and in their other home fixture, they played out a 2-2 draw with Manchester United. So they have stepped it up when it has come to the big matches at least, but that has been mixed in with disappoints of defeats against Everton and Newcastle and a failure to beat West Brom. But they are unbeaten at home in the Premier League and they don’t give anyone an easy game there. There has only been the one clean sheet for them in the Premier League this season and both teams to score at bet365 fetches a price of 10/11. Chelsea won’t have their main centre half David Luiz available because of suspension. The main options for Stoke in the anytime goalscorer market are Saido Berahino and Peter Crouch who are both at 3/1. The Potters have a W1 D1 L2 record in their last four home games against Chelsea, not scoring more than one goal in any of those fixtures.

Chelsea have picked up ten points from five games in their Premier League title defence. Out on the road, they have won both of their games so far in having beaten Spurs and Leicester. Chelsea have returned exactly two goals in four of their five league games this season and a Chelsea 2-1 correct score at bet365 brings a nice looking price of 2/1. Alvaro Morata is the even money favourite in the anytime goalscorer market for the game and they are gradually getting more time out of Eden Hazard as he works his way back from injury to full fitness. Last season in the top flight, Chelsea won both of their games against Stoke and they are on a three match winning streak against them. Both teams have scored in five of the last six games between the two. Chelsea will know that they won’t get an easy game at the Bet365 Stadium at all, and a Stoke +0.75 Asian Handicap at 11/10 will have some appeal to back the home side staying within touching distance of the Blues.

Stoke v Chelsea Predictions

Chelsea to win: The Blues will probably be happier playing this before a European fixture than after. Stoke haven’t produced anything really special this season and Chelsea have those extra touches of quality in their ranks to find a way to grind out a win in this one. Chelsea can win this but it is unlikely to be by anything more than a one goal margin.
