Cambridge Student Joseph Vambe collected a nice £6,793 win from a wager at Betfred last weekend. The big return for the 19-year-old came from just a £4 stake.
Vambe had played the bet on a Yes or No coupon, where predictions are made as to whether a game will see both teams score or not.
Both Team To Score Picks
Leicester-Chelsea
Watford-Everton
West Ham-Brighton
Charlton-Barnsley
Preston-Swansea
Port Vale-Salford
Albion Rovers-Cove Rangers
Both Teams NOT To Score Picks
Crystal Palace-Sheffield United
Liverpool-Southampton
Newcastle-Norwich
Livingston-Motherwell
Rangers-Aberdeen
Tottenham and Manchester City
The final match of the coupon, which was Tottenham v Manchester City, will have raised the stress levels of the student. Having been selected as a Both Teams NOT To Score option, Tottenham went on to win the match 2-0 against the reigning champions.
But during the contest, Ilkay Gundogan had missed a penalty for City, a strike which would have ruined the punter’s bet.
Vambe, a Manchester United supporter, put the success down to studying statistics, saying that he had extensively researched games before making selections.
Betfred boss Fred Done said: “There isn’t that much to smile about for us Reds this season, so it’s nice to hear Joseph picked my pocket for just a £4 bet… I bet his mum’s chuffed to bits too!”
