Talk to many punters and they will tell you that golf is one of the hardest sports out there to predict. There are such big fields in attendance at a given tournament that narrowing the field is such a tough thing to do. One duffed drive into the rough can easily ruin an outright winner bet.
But one punter at Boylesports showed everyone else how to do as they picked two golf winners in the same day in the same bet. That’s a staggering parlay play.
The two selections combined to give the punter a five-figure sum with the bookmaker. The punter, from County Mayo, Ireland played a €10 bet that required two winners: Xander Schauffele at the WGC-HSBC Champions as well as Cameron Champ to win the Sanderson Farms.
So that bet needed both players to win. Schauffele delivering the win looked a bit dodgy but he picked up a shot on each of the final two holes in China to take Tony Finau to a playoff. Shaufelle continued his streak by getting a birdie on the first playoff hole to win the tournament. Champ’s run was a little smoother as he defended a four shot lead that he had taken into the final day in Mississippi.
Schauffele went off at around 50-1 to win the WGC HSBC Champions, while Champ was listed around 65-1 at most sportsbooks to get the win in the US. When combined, BoyleSports paid out the winner at more than 1000/1. The bettor walked away with €10,950.
