Swansea City News and Form – Another win for the table-topping Swans?

Steve Cooper took over from Graham Potter in the summer after Potter opted to take the job at Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. The Welshman has hit the ground running at the Liberty Stadium, with the Swans sitting top of the league after ten matches.

Swansea picked up their first league victory since August in midweek, battling to a 2-1 win away at Charlton. Jonathan Leko put the home side in front after 17 minutes, with Jan Dhanda equalising for the visitors shortly after. In the 65th minute, Andre Ayew netted is first league goal of the season to give Cooper’s troops all three points.

That victory at The Valley was just what the doctor ordered for Swansea, as the club had failed to win any of their previous four in all competitions. Overall, the Swans have won six, drawn three and lost one of their opening ten Championship matches.

After getting back to winning ways at Charlton in midweek, the Swans will be targeting back-to-back victories. The home side are nicely priced at evens in this one.

Stoke City News and Form – Winless run to go on for the Potters?

Stoke City have had a miserable year and a half since dropping out of the Premier League. Last season, the Potters managed a 16th place finish, accumulating 55 points from 46 games.

This term, Stoke have yet to win in the league, drawing two and losing eight. City lost a six-pointer at the bet365 Stadium against fellow strugglers Huddersfield Town in midweek, with Juninho Bacuna’s late goal winning the points for the Terriers. A few days earlier, Stoke were beaten 3-2 at home by Nottingham Forest.

City have not won a league game since Peter Etebo’s goal gave them a 1-0 victory at Blackburn Rovers back in April. In fact, that remains their only Championship triumph since March 2nd. Meanwhile, Jones has claimed just three league wins since taking over at the bet365 Stadium.

Stoke were available at 12/1 to win the title before a ball had been kicked this season. Now, the Potters are priced at just 9/4 for relegation. The Staffordshire club are desperate for their first league win of the season. However, Saturday’s matchup against the league leaders will be a tough one for the bottom club.

Swansea City v Stoke City Predictions

Swansea win: The Swans are expected to pile even more misery on Jones and the Potters this weekend. Another defeat for Stoke could signal the end of what has been a turbulent time for Welshman Jones at the bet365 Stadium. Swansea have played some attractive stuff this season, and they should be too good for Stoke at the Liberty. We’re backing the home side to come out on top at the very generous odds of evens.

Strangely, Stoke have scored first in three of their last four Championship defeats. Meanwhile, Swansea have notched the opener in three of their previous four games at the Liberty in all competitions. The hosts will be banking on a fast start on their own patch this Saturday, so have a punt on Swansea to score first at 8/13.
