Swansea City vs Millwall Betting Tips – EFL Championship, 23rd November 15.00pm

Swansea City and Millwall square off at the Liberty Stadium in the EFL Championship on Saturday. Steve Cooper’s Swans have made an excellent start to their season, while the Lions have taken six points from three games under new boss Gary Rowett. With both teams in good nick, this should be a fascinating matchup this weekend, but which way will it go in South Wales?

Swansea City News and Form – Swans to extend unbeaten run to four?

Steve Cooper’s Swansea City have taken seven points from a possible nine since crashing to a heavy 3-0 home defeat to Brentford last month. After beating rivals Cardiff City 1-0 at the Liberty, the Swans picked up a 2-1 win at Wigan Athletic. Just before the international break, the Welsh side then battled to a 2-2 draw in a thrilling game with Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

Swansea have won exactly half of their 16 games to sit in fourth place on 29 points. Ahead of this round of fixtures, Cooper’s men find themselves just four points adrift of league leaders West Bromwich Albion. The Swans have won eight, drawn five and lost three so far.

Swansea will want to keep the momentum ticking with another home victory at the weekend. The hosts go into Saturday’s tasty clash as the favourites at evens.

Swansea City vs Millwall Head to Head

Swansea beat Millwall home and away last season, winning 2-1 at The Den before claiming a 1-0 victory at the Liberty

The Swans have won each of the last three meetings

The Lions have not beaten Swansea since a 2-1 win at the Liberty in an EFL League One match back in March 2008

Millwall have won only one of the previous seven

Key-Facts – Swansea City vs Millwall

  • The Swans have picked up more points on their travels (16) than at home (13)
  • Millwall have failed to win any of their opening eight away matches (four defeats, four draws)
  • Swansea are eight points above the Lions in the table going into this one

Millwall News and Form – Can Rowett make it nine points from 12?

Since inheriting the managerial reigns at The Den, Gary Rowett has guided Millwall to two wins from three games. The 45-year-old started life at the London club with a home win over his former side Stoke City.

After losing 2-1 to Reading at the Madejski Stadium, the Lions saw off Charlton Athletic by the same scoreline at The Den in their last outing. Matt Smith’s last-gasp goal gave Millwall the points after Jonathan Leko had cancelled out Shaun Hutchinson’s early effort.

Millwall have once again struggled on the road this season, failing to win any of their opening eight. Only Wigan Athletic and Barnsley have picked up fewer away points up until now, with the Lions taking a mere four points from an available 24. Can Millwall secure their first away league win since beating Birmingham City at St Andrew’s back in March?

Swansea City vs Millwall Predictions

Swansea City win: Rowett has already had a positive impact at Millwall since taking over in south London last month. However, this will be his toughest test yet. The Lions will be desperate to pick up their first away win of the season on Saturday, but the Swans should be too strong at the Liberty.

Swansea won five league and cup home games in a row at the start of the season. However, their 1-0 victory over Cardiff last month was their first home success in five. I fancy City to win this one comfortably, so my money is going on Swansea to win -1 at 5/2. The home side are also good value at 21/10 to be winning at half time and full time on Saturday.
