Swansea v West Brom Predictions & Betting Odds – 9th December 2017

Stalemate for the Swans at the Liberty Stadium

Swansea v West Brom Betting Tips – Premier League 9th December 3.00pm

The Welsh club now finds themselves bottom of the Premier League table having managed to pick up the just one point from the eighteen available to them in the Premier League. So this is an important home game for them against a fellow strugglers. Alan Pardew is the man in charge of the Baggies now and you would expect some more fight to come from them, but that could take time. West Brom played out a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace last weekend in Pardew’s first game in charge. Who will win this game between two sides who can’t seem to win matches?

Swansea News and Form

Swansea have to be feeling really nervous about their situation now. They are sat at the bottom of the league table and have lost six of their last seven games (D1). Quite how they are going to turn the corner with a lack of scoring power is a mystery. They do have the second best defensive record of all sides in the bottom half of the Premier League table, but they can’t score. They have failed to net in four of their last five Premier League games now. While they managed one at Stoke last weekend, they still ended up losing. At the Liberty Stadium this term, the Swans are W1 D1 L5 and are winless in their last three there. There has been no goal from them in either of their last two home soil so under 2.5 goals at Paddy Power jumps to the fore of betting options and under 1.5 goals will have its appeal at 11/8. The Swans have netted just the four home goals this season, just one of them coming in the first half of matches. They have been losing at half time in all but three of their home games. Five of the ten home goals they have conceded have been in the final fifteen minutes of matches. Swansea have scored only the one opening goal at home this season. Tammy Abraham is their shortest priced anytime goalscorer option at 23/10.

West Brom News and Form

Alan Pardew guided the Baggies to a point last weekend in his first game in charge, as they played out a 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace. That point means that they won’t drop down in the relegation zone this weekend, but only by virtue of goal difference. West Brom are on a three match drawing streak at the moment but that long winless streak of theirs continues with them now having failed to win any of their thirteen league games. Away from home, they are winless in six games with a D2 L4 record in that sequence. Much like Swansea, they have had their problems in front of goal this season and have managed to score just the four goals out on the road this season. Just 14% of their away games have gone over 2.5 goals. The 0-0 draw in the Paddy Power correct score market is shot at 11/2 with the 1-1 draw at 5/1. The Baggies have one clean sheet only on their travels this season and not only single West Brom player has managed more than one away goal for them this term. Both teams NOT to score is highly probable going into this one and that is a price for 4/6 with Paddy Power.

Swansea v West Brom Head to Head

These two traded home victories in last season’s Premier League and of the previous twelve Premier League meetings between them, Swansea hold a W5 D1 L4 record against the Baggies so it is all pretty even. The Swans though are unbeaten in their last three at the Liberty Stadium against West Brom, winning two (both by a one goal margin) and drawing one.

Swansea v West Brom Betting Odds

Swansea 6/4, West Brom 15/8, Draw 11/5

Swansea v West Brom Predictions

The draw has to have major appeal in this one because of the season that these two are having respectively. The Baggies probably just edge things, but they will need a bit of time under Pardew to get up and running, so back the draw in this one as the home side will know the importance of not losing this one at the end of the day.
