Swansea v Wolves Betting Preview – FA Cup 17th January 7.45pm

It was a pretty even contest between the two sides at Molineux, both having a man sent off in the match. Neither could find a breakthrough but for most of the game, Wolves showed that they can match Premier league opponents. It’s a fascinating contest because both have serious distractions elsewhere with the Swans struggling for Premier League survival and Wolves looking to win the Championship. This may well be another tight contest between the two in the replay in South Wales. Many predicted a cup upset in this time, will Wolves be able to pull it off still?

Swansea v Wolves FA Cup Betting Tips

Can the Swans hold out against some tough opponents back on home soil in this FA Cup replay? Swansea really have to have more attention on trying to survive this Premier League season without getting relegated than making an FA Cup run which will likely ultimately prove fruitless anyway. Swansea have taken just one win in their last eight games in all competitions and of the six victories that they claimed across the season, four of those have been out on the road. They don’t have good form on home soil at the Liberty Stadium this season at all as they have gone W2 D2 L8 at home this season and they have failed to score in five of their last seven. So under 2.5 goals at BetVictor looks a good option for the game as the Swans have not been terrible at the back at all. The Swans just don’t have a lot of firepower to call on really and therefore both teams not to score is probably the right option for this game. Swansea have just two goals in their last seven home games in all competitions.

There have actually been a lot of goals in recent meetings between the two clubs in South Wales. Each of the last four between them at the Liberty Stadium have all gone over 2.5 goals. There was a 4-4 draw between them the last time they met in South Wales and that was a 2012 Premier League clash. Each of the last three between the two sides have ended in a draw and it leaves things even at one win each and three draws in the last five meetings. Swansea though have won just one of their last five home games against Wolves (D1 L3).

Wolves are looking as if they will be playing in the top flight next season and didn’t look out of place against Swansea in that first meeting. They just couldn’t find the goals to get the win on the board on the day. Wolves are unbeaten now in fourteen games across all competitions and they have gone W10 D4 in that sequence, so they are in red-hot form. Defensively they have taken a clean sheet in each of their last three played and therefore a Wolves to win to nil wager at BetVictor may have some appeal going in this one considering how few goals the Swans have produced at home. Wolves have been strong on the road recently took with them having posted a W5 D2 record in their last seven away from Molineaux and they scored at least two goals in four of those seven games while keeping a clean sheet in five of them. They could yet take that Premier League scalp of Swansea and move ahead in the tournament.

Swansea v Wolves FA Cup Predictions

There doesn’t appear to be too much to choose between these two. There was plenty of entertainment in the first leg, but no-one could find the breakthrough. Even though Wolves are away they aren’t out of this and look a classy side. They can still pull off the upset.
