Sweden News and Form – Can the Swedes cause an upset on home turf?

Janne Andersson’s Sweden have had a solid Euro 2020 qualifying campaign so far, winning four, drawing two and losing one of their opening seven. The Swedes are assured of at least a play-off place after topping their UEFA Nations League group, but they will want to book their spot in the finals via the automatic route.

Sweden have put themselves in a great position to qualify after a thumping 4-0 win over Malta last weekend. The Blue and Yellow were superb in Ta’ Qali, with Sebastian Larsson scoring two penalties, Marcus Danielson helping himself to one and an own goal doing the business.

If Sweden can’t do the job on Tuesday, Andersson’s boys will fancy their chances of beating Romania in Bucharest next month, which could be enough.

Sweden v Spain Head to Head

Spain won the reverse match 3-0 in Madrid, with Sergio Ramos, Alvaro Morata and Mikel Oyarzabal on the scoresheet

Spain have won the last three meetings

Sweden have won just one of the 13 games between the pair

The Spaniards have scored eight goals in the last three, shipping one in the process

Key-Facts – Sweden v Spain

  • Sweden have lost just one qualifier so far (against Spain)
  • Spain are unbeaten in seven in Group F, winning six and drawing one
  • La Roja are five points ahead of the Swedes

Spain News and Form – La Roja to go through?

Spain have hardly put a foot wrong in qualifying so far, winning six and drawing one of seven. La Roja have scored 18 times along the way, shipping just four at the other end.

Spain’s 100% winning record came to an end last weekend, though, as Robert Moreno’s men conceded late to draw 1-1 with Norway at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo. A Saul Niguez goal shortly after half time gave them a lead, but Josh King’s last-gasp penalty gifted the Norwegians a point.

Spain have been in very good shape over the past year or so. Before drawing with Norway last time out, La Roja had won seven matches in a row since back-to-back Nations League losses at the end of last year.

Victory over Sweden on Tuesday will see Spain through to the 2020 European Championship finals, and the bookies are pricing them at 10/11 to get three points in Solna.

Sweden v Spain Tips & Odds

Sweden v Spain Predictions

Spain win: The 2008 & 2012 European champions have dropped just two points during qualifying so far. Having conceded late to draw 1-1 with Norway in Oslo just a few days ago, Moreno’s men will want to return to winning ways in this one.

Sweden will blow the group wide open with a home win on Tuesday. However, Spain are a savvy outfit, and the visitors should be too strong for the Swedes in Solna. Put some money on Spain to win -1 at 21/10.

Moreno has been known to chop and change this Spanish team, but skipper Sergio Ramos is still one of the first names on the scoresheet. Despite being a defender, Ramos has scored four goals in Group F. Have a punt on the Real Madrid man to notch anytime on Tuesday at 9/2.
