Steven Gerrard even money to not last the season at Rangers

Paddy Power
How will Steven Gerrard’s first foray into club management go? The former Liverpool man has taken a big step up from coaching the youth of the Reds to take the helm at Scottish side Rangers. Given that their Glasgow rivals Celtic are dominating the entire Scottish scene, it is going to be a tall order for Gerrard to get the Gers to close the gap. Paddy Power have priced up 1/4 odds* (betting odds taken on May 8th, 2018 at 1:44 a.m.) on Gerrard not managing to win a single piece of silverware during his time in the Ibrox hot seat and there is even money that he will get the boot from the job before the end of his first season in charge. It is all going to depend on expectancy at the club. Is Gerrard being given major cash to spend? Are Rangers trusting him to develop the youth for a couple of years to try and make a longer-term challenge to Celtic that way? Rangers are 8/1 odds* (betting odds taken on May 8th, 2018 at 1:44 a.m.) at Paddy Power to win the first Old Firm derby of next season with Celtic in at 4/11 odds* (betting odds taken on May 8th, 2018 at 1:44 a.m.). Rangers are in double figures to win the Scottish Premiership next season. Of course, things could not pass without Paddy Power firing off some extra markets like a 6/5 price* (betting odds taken on May 8th, 2018 at 1:44 a.m.) on Gerrard losing his footing on the sidelines next season during one of his games in charge. Gerrard famously slipped in the 2013/14 Premier League match against Chelsea, gifting the Blues a goal which saw Liverpool’s surprise title challenge destroyed. He will be taking on his former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers as well, who is the current Celtic manager. You can take 9/2 odds* (betting odds taken on May 8th, 2018 at 1:44 a.m.) on there being a touchline bust-up between the two of them.

Paddy Power Steven Gerrard Specials Odds*

Gerrard to leave Rangers without winning a trophy 1/4 Rangers to lose first Old Firm derby under Gerrard 4/11 Gerrard to get sacked before the end of his first season EVENS Gerrard to slip over on the touchline during a 2018/19 Rangers game 6/5 Gerrard to have a touchline bust-up with Brendan Rodgers 9/2 Rangers to win first Old Firm derby 8/1 Rangers to win the SPL in Gerrard’s first season 12/1 Rangers to go on a pre-season tour of Istanbul 16/1 Rangers to win the Champions League within the next three seasons 1000/1 * (all betting odds taken on May 8th, 2018 at 1:44 a.m.)

Bookies relieved as Royals pick the name Louis

Novelty Betting & Other Events Betting
Bookies were relieved on Friday as Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge pulled a name out of left field for their third child. The couple called the newborn Louis Arthur Charles and the name Louis was around 6/1 odds but at some places, bookmakers had ignored the name like at Paddy Power where it was an 18/1 in the build up to the big unveiling. Heading up the market for the name of the next royal baby just before Kensington Palace made their announcement, was Albert at 2/1 odds. Paddy Power had suspended betting on the market early on Friday after a late flurry of action on Albert. That was after, they announced, that they had paid out on the name Arthur before the Royals had even left the hospital. Ladbrokes had Louis at 20/1 odds after the birth and was at 14/1 early on Friday morning. Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Prince Louis has caught both bookies and punters by surprise. With it being one of Prince George’s middle names fans didn’t see it as an obvious front-runner for Kate and Wills second son.” “It looks like we made the right decision to keep betting open until the very end for royal punters, rather than suspending the market or paying out early due to the rumour mill going into overdrive, as we so often saw over the last few days.” Not many punters predicted Louis in the Royal baby name betting so it has proved to be a little bit of a surprise, to the relief of the bookmakers who feared the late gamble on Albert,” said Coral’s John Hill. But one punter at Betfair clearly had a startling revelation as someone stuck a £12,000 bet at Betfair on the royal baby being named Louis on Friday morning. Betfair's biggest winner of the day was a £3,200 payout in Leicester by a punter who bet £200 yesterday when the odds were at 16/1. But as news of the name seemingly leaked out through this morning, the odds kept shortening. “At 6 am this morning the name Louis was at 120/1, so a £10 bet at that time would have netted you £1,200," said Betfair's Katie Baylis. "Those odds kept shortening throughout the morning and by 9 am Louis was at 60/1, at 10.30 30/1 and just 15 minutes later was at 9/1. "By 11 am when the name was announced it was as short as 1/100 and we had had 12k bet on Louis this morning alone."

Grand National 2018 In-Play Betting Odds

Horse Racing Betting
The will be 40 horses lining up at the Grand National on the weekend at Aintree. This is a tremendous spectacle as the field takes on the challenge of 4 miles 514 yards and 30 fences. Even for those who don’t follow horse racing, most will have heard of the famous jumps like Becher’s Brook and The Chair. The race is ran over two laps of sixteen fences, with the first fourteen being jumped twice. This is the longest national hunt race in Great Britain. It is a test of stamina for both jockey and horse. With the rise and rise and live in-play betting, no longer do you have to walk down the High Street and get a punt on your selection for the Grand National before the flag is dropped at Aintree. Now you can bet live in-play on the big feature race, which is the crown of the Aintree Festival. It is Anibale Fly and Total Recall who have taken plenty of strong backing at the head of the market. Total Recall is at 10/1 odds and Anibale Fly at 11/1 with Paddy Power* (betting odds taken on April 12th, 2018 at 4:21 p.m.) and Tiger Roll is still there at elevens as well. One that the bookies will be fearing as well is Seeyouatmidnight at 16/1 who has taken heavy backing over the course of the week building up to the race.

Horse Racing In-Play opportunities

The in-play opportunity just options up so many options and combine that with the ability to Cash Out then you are well tooled up. If your selection has gotten off to a bad start and looks well out of it, you could even cash out on them and make another selection in-play. Similarly, if your selection is a faller early on in the race, they may want to look elsewhere in the remaining field for a selection. One thing's for certain that there WILL be fallers in the Grand National. It’s as sure of a thing as the sun rising in the east. Last year just 19 of the 40 starters completed the challenge.

Where to find Grand National in play bets

Paddy Power are one of the bookmaker's offering both their usual cash out options on the Grand National 2018 and they are also offering live in-play on all forty of the horses starting in the race as well. The bookmaker is offering up in-play options will also be running on Fridays Topham Chase from the Aintree Festival a swell.

How can I request my own bet from bookmakers?

Bookmaker News
Bookmakers have started to put a fair bit of control into the hands of punters thanks to online betting opportunities. No longer do punters just have to go and settle for what is on offer in a sportsbook with a bookmaker, instead, now, punters are able to go and create a bet of their own liking and then simply go and ask for that wager to be priced up. It is nice to be able to go and call the shots to some degree if you think you can strike it rich. This increasingly popular new feature of being able to request a bet is allowing punters to get as creative as they like for their online betting. The ability to create a bet is largely focused on football matches and from stats involved in them such as the number of corners, both teams to score and how many assists a named player in a match will make. You can throw things like this together, and as many as you want, into a single bet.

How to request a bet

The one thing that all of the different request a bet features across different bookmakers have in common is that you will have to go and hit up Twitter to request a price. Each bookmaker is naturally running a different hashtag for their request a bet feature so all that you would do is look for the specific hashtag and which handle to Tweet it to and just send it off. Generally what happens is that the bookmaker will then reply to your Tweet along with a link where you can go directly and place the bet.

Coral #YourCall

Coral are one of the purveyors of this and their version is called #Yourcall. On all Premier League, Championship, Champions League, La Liga and Serie A matches you can create a bet from the following markets: Match result, Both Teams To Score, Total Match Goals, Total Match Corners and Total Match Booking Points, plus you have the options based on named players in the match as well, such as shots, tackles, assists and a player to be carded. Coral also offer the feature on NBA Basketball matches including Money Line, Total Points, assists, rebounds, 3-point goals, blocked shots and steals.

Ladbrokes #GetAPrice

Ladbrokes also run a version of being able to request a bet. So there you can combine your own Match and Play Stats markets. You can pick your bet from a from a whole host of stats like assists, passes, shots, shots on target and tackles, or any combination. The Ladbrokes #GetAprice is available every week on all Premier League, Championship, La Liga, Serie A and Champions League matches. Basically, if you can’t find a market that you want, you can ask Ladbrokes to create it for you.

Paddy Power #AskPaddyPower

If you can think of a market that Paddy Power haven’t listed on their site then you can go and ask them to price it up for you. With Paddy Power whatever you can think up pretty much flies as they state that they will offer you up a price on virtually anything. So even if you think you have a crazy old creation going on, the chances are that Paddy Power will take a look at it and offer you something. Just Tweet them and find out!

William Hill #YourOdds

William Hill are another of the major online bookmakers to offer punters the chance to request a price on a wager of your creation. Again you can simply go and ask the bookmaker to price something up for you. There is a list of sports that William Hill have listed that will be covered by the #YourOdds feature, such as football and horse racing, but even if you are thinking outside of the list then there really is no harm in just asking anyway.

Back Bets Created By Others

What you will notice at bookmakers, such as at William Hill there are even dedicated sections for the special markets that punters have created already. So if you are lacking the time to go and create one of your own then you browse through other bets that have already been requested by and matched for punters and just strike a bet as you would on a regular sports betting market and make the most of those!

Sheffield United v Middlesbrough Predictions & Betting Odds – 10th April 2018

Championship Betting

Sheffield United v Middlesbrough Betting Preview - Championship 10th April 7.45pm

This is a big game for Boro who are sitting in sixth place. They start the game four points ahead of Sheffield United so victory here would shut out at least one of their challengers for a play off spot. The Blades have slipped away from the top six after having only managed to pick up the one win in their last six played. Can they haul themselves back into the picture with a victory?

Sheffield United News and Form

Sheffield United have one win in their last seven league games (D4 L2) and things just are not falling into place for them. They produced a fantastic performance at the start of the month in almost beating Cardiff, but they let it slip by conceding a late equaliser. Then on the weekend, they tanked away from home against Barnsley who are in the relegation zone. They will be hoping for better on home soil in midweek and they are unbeaten in their last five at Bramall Lane (D2 L3) so they do have that going for them. The Blades have conceded just the one goal in their last three home games as well. Under 2.5 goals at Paddy Power is at 8/13 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 11:49 p.m. on April 8th, 2018). Each of their last three league home fixtures have gone under the goal line. Sheffield United have averaged 1.5 goals per game at home this season while they have conceded at under a goal per game on average. They have taken a clean sheet in 40% of their home games this term so again, that hints that this will be a low scoring fixture.

Middlesbrough News and Form

Boro have been in fine form with a W5 D3 L1 record put up in their last nine league games. They were winless in three before picking up a solid home win over Nottingham Forest on the weekend to return to form. They are undefeated in their last four road games, drawing three of those including their last two. Boro’s last two away games have ended in a 1-1 draw and in the Paddy Power correct score market the 1-1 draw is at 5/1 odds* (Betting Odds taken at 11:49 p.m. on April 8th, 2018). Middlesbrough have netted in each of their last four away games and overall home and away combined have scored in each of their last nine league games. Each of their last three away games have gone under 2.5 goals so again another indicator that goals may be at a premium in this one. Boro have averaged 1.45 goals per away game this season. At this stage, they just need the points and the performances don’t matter. A 1-0 would suit them fine.

Sheffield United v Middlesbrough Head to Head

Middlesbrough collected a 1-0 home win over Sheffield United when they met earlier this season. That made it three wins a row for them over the Blades. Middlesbrough have lost just one of their last eight against them (W5 D2 L1). So the head to head favours Boro who won their last trip to Bramall Lane 2-1 which was in the 2010/2011 Championship season.

Sheffield United v Middlesbrough Betting Odds*

Sheffield United 7/5, Middlesbrough 15/8, Draw 21/10* (Betting Odds taken at 11:45 p.m. on April 8th, 2018)

Sheffield United v Middlesbrough Predictions

Boro have done pretty well with their form to get into the top six and are good enough to avoid defeat in this one. Sheffield United’s failure against relegation-threatened Barnsley on the weekend was a blow and Boro can strike them down too.

The best Asian handicap bookmakers

There is always some football betting to be enjoyed somewhere. Whether it is during the action packed heavy-fixtures domestic seasons in Europe, to summer treats like the European Championships or the World Cup there is always something going on somewhere. Even the likes of the MLS in North America fills a great void during the European domestic break. So you are never ever going to be short of football betting opportunities whatever time of the year it is. One of the most rapidly rising channels for football betting has been the arrival of Asian Handicap betting. While to some punters it remains an untapped well of potential, many have seen the huge advantages of betting Asian Handicap versus regular Handicaps. What is the difference? The Asian Handicap version eliminates any “push” outcome (a draw) which ruins regular Handicap bets. Let’s say you have a bet -2 regular handicap on Manchester United to win a match against Stoke, but the Red Devils only win 2-0. Your stake will have been lost because the Red Devils didn't cover the spread. However, if you had bet on a Manchester United -2 Asian Handicap and Manchester United won 2-0 then you would get your lost stake refunded. Asian handicap essentially cuts down the number of outcomes from win/draw/win to just win/win, eliminating the draw. So punters have a much more valuable closer shot of a 50% winning chance. Asian Handicap includes ½ and ÂĽ intervals which makes betting even more valuable. In the above instance, if you had backed Manchester United at -1.75 and they had won 2-0 then you would have gotten a half win back. So on an Asian Handicap of 0 through 0.50 half of the stake goes on the 0.5 handicap and the other half on the 0 handicap, so your stake basically gets split over two bets. Not all bookmakers offer Asian Handicap betting, which is a perfect fit for football betting. So you are going to need to look around to find the best Asian Handicap bookmakers. Bet365 are one of the main exponents of the service, with a good history of offering the market to their customers. With the prices on offer to the rest of the football betting features that they offer, they are the stand out option for your Asian Handicap betting. As a recommendation of the best Asian Handicap bookmakers, Bet365 would have to top the charts. One thing which they are very good at in particular, is getting out early Asian Handicap prices on football matches, so you can plan well ahead. Other great Asian Handicap bookmakers are Bet Victor, Paddy Power, Unibet and 888Sport. All of them offer Asian Handicap betting with Unibet in particular offering some fantastic value in their markets. It may take some time to get used to the Asian Handicap betting markets, but by putting in some time you will quickly be able to see the fantastic extra value and coverage that can be found in there.

Explore the Patent Bet at Paddy Power

Betting Advice
A lot of punters will be familiar with the Lucky 15 wager, which gets a lot of use in the world of horse racing betting. The Lucky 15 is a version of a full cover bet with the singles included. The Lucky 15 gets its name from is the fifteen separate bets that the bet consists of (4 singles, 6 doubles, 4 trebles and a fourfold accumulator). Because of the number of individual bets in a Lucky 15, it means that whatever stake that you want to play will be multiplied by 15. So if you wanted a £1 Lucky 15 then you would be striking a bet of £15 from your online betting account, say at online bookmaker Paddy Power. While there is an immense amount of coverage from a lucky fifteen, just one selection will guarantee a return, for some it may offer too big of an initial outlay risk. The Patent Bet, which is available at online betting site Paddy Power offers a pretty good compromise for punters, because it lessens the outlay. The compromise there is of course that there are fewer bets being placed, just seven compared to the Lucky 15. Whereas the Lucky 15 is made up of four selections, the Patent is built from just the three selections. Landing three correct selections is an easier task than banging out four of course. Because the Patent is also a full cover bet with singles, then the same scenario applies that you will only need one winning selection to guarantee a return to your account. If you were to head over to online betting site Paddy Power and place a Patent then you will be placing three singles, 3 doubles and a trouble, and that can still produce a lot of value for the lesser risk than playing off a Lucky 15. Really the most of the value coming back from a Lucky 15 is going to come from the payout from the fourfold acca. Of course most bookmakers do offer double the odds payout if just one selection in the Lucky 15 turns up, but that doesn’t decrease the value of the Patent bet. What you really need to compare the value of the Patent Bet with really the Trixie. The Patent is the next evolution of the Trixie as it is a Trixie Bet with the singles included. For the extra three bets (the three singles) that the Patent includes up from the Trixie Bet, there is a tremendous amount of value on offer. It is straightforward to place a Patent Bet at online bookmaker Paddy Power. Just pick three selections, in this example, Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal to all win their matches. At the bottom of the betting slip, there is the Betting Options where you will see the ability to build your selections into a Trixie or a Patent. Bookmakers will also allow you to build bankers into your multiples. A full explanation of Banker Bets can be found here. Other great features to be found at online betting site Paddy Power are early Cash Out options, live betting and of course their fantastic array of money back specials. New customers registering an account with online betting site Paddy Power can get a free £50 bet. When you place your first stake with them, they will match it up with a free bet up to the maximum value of £50.

Hotshot Jackpot competition at Paddy Power

Paddy Power
Each week there is a prediction game on offer from online betting site Paddy Power which gives players the chance to land a share of a big jackpot. With each and every sports bet that a punter makes they are making a prediction, testing their powers of forecasting the future. That, of course, comes with a stake attached, a risk, but with the Paddy Power Predict 6, you can take a shot at big returns, all risk-free. The Paddy Power Predict 6 runs each week during the regular football season and as the name suggest you have to make six predictions. They are First Goalscorer predictions from the six nominated matches the bookmaker presents in each round.

What does it cost to play?

Absolutely nothing. The competition is open to all registered Paddy Power account holders

Making the predictions

There is a simple form to fill out in the Paddy Power Hotshot Jackpot competition where you simply predict the first goalscorer from a menu for each game. It’s a simple as that really. You can change your predictions up to the start of the fixture but not once the games have started. If your pick a player who doesn’t end up playing, it means that you won't get a shot at the weekly jackpot but could be in the running for the round prize of £2,500. All of the matches will be for a Saturday 3 pm kick off. You will have the option to select no goalscorer in a selected match if you think that it is going to end up 0-0.

The Prize

The prize is huge because the jackpot competition has a ÂŁ250,000 pot and if nobody wins that they the bookmaker adds another ÂŁ25,000 per round, up to a maximum total of ÂŁ1,000,000. Once a jackpot has gone, the next round will revert back to the starting pot of ÂŁ250,000.

The Winner

Any prediction which correctly selects the first goal scorer in ALL of the Hotshot Jackpot fixtures in a given round will win. If more than one player gets all predictions correct then the prize will be shared evenly. There is a consolation prize in each round as well because if the jackpot doesn’t go, the player with the highest number of first goalscorer winners (at least five) can claim a £2,500 consolation prize. There is a also a tiebreak question that you will have to fill when you submit your predictions and this will be the decider would two or more participants have the same number of first goalscorers. The top ten participants in each round of the Paddy Power Hotshot Jackpot will each claim a £25 free bet.

The Leaderboard

There is a leaderboard competition tied into all this as well which will be settled and closed after the final round of Premier League match of the 2017/18 season (13th May, 2018). The player with the highest number of selected first goal scorers across the entire season will then pick up a prize of ÂŁ2,500 and if there is a tie, then the overall winner will be the participant with the closest prediction for the Hotshot Tiebreaker Question in the last round of the game will get the win.

This is a fun competition to go and have a shot at. The Weekly jackpot is huge and if that jackpot isn’t won then there is still a £2,500 cash prize that can be collected, plus the top 10 players in each round get a £25 free bet. So there's a lot going on and again, all of this is free to play each and every week. There is just the one prediction entry per week per customer. That is natural because you can only hold one Paddy Power account.
