Betfred joins in on Man City early title payout

Betfred
While Betfred and Paddy Power have now both paid out early on Manchester City winning the Premier League title this season with a whopping 22 games still left to play, other bookmakers are still offering odds on Pep Guardiola's men getting their hands on the title. City are 1/25 odds at places like Betbright and that converts to them having a 98% chance of winning the league. After the Citizens had taken a win at Old Trafford against their big rivals Manchester United on the weekend, the odds on City winning the title were trimmed across the board, with BetVictor moving the Citizens from 1/20 out to 1/50. Last week, even before the Manchester derby, Paddy Power became the first bookmaker to pay out on a title for Pep Guardiola's men this season. After their 2-1 victory, Betfred joined Paddy Power in paying out on a Premier League title for City and that will have hurt owner Fred Done who is an avid Manchester United fan. "It's a sad day but as far as I'm concerned the Blues are champions," said the Betfred boss after seeing his side go down against the Citizens. At the final whistle, he issued a payout on the title going to the blue side of Manchester. Done added: "This is painful both for the heart and the wallet but after winning at Old Trafford there is no way no one is closing that 11 point gap. This hurts but the Blues look unstoppable so I'm giving the punters who backed them an early Christmas present." Betfred are reportedly going to be shelling out around £800,000 on this early payout and among them, is one punter who had a £40,000 stake on the Citizens at odds of 2/1. Fred Done has been bitten by double payouts from previous early season pay outs on the Premier League title. In the 1989 campaign, Done paid out early on Manchester United getting the title when they were eleven points clear of Arsenal, but the Gunners came back to sneak the title by a single point in the end. That early payout happened when there were only ten games left in the season. This time, City still have 22 fixtures to navigate. In the 2011/2012 Premier League season, Done had to suffer another double payout when he had again paid early on Manchester United winning the league, only to see Sergio Aguero net an injury time winner for Manchester City on the final day to give the Citizens the title. They did also pay out early in April 2016 on Leicester getting their first Premier League title success but the Foxes went on in that occasion to finish top.

Paddy Power pay out on Man City EPL title win

Premier League Betting
Is the title race over in the Premier League for this season? According to bookmaker Paddy Power, yes as they have paid out on Manchester City winning the title already. The Citizens hold an eight point advantage over their rivals Manchester United ahead of Sunday’s Manchester derby. So a win for the Citizens in that one would be a massive step further towards the league title for Pep Guardiola's men. Manchester City were around 15/8 in the Premier League winner ante post market but with a stupendous W12 D1 L0 record for the season, Paddy Power believes that they are not going to be caught, even before going into the hectic and testing Festive period which can make or break title challenges. So they have decided to give City backers and early Christmas present by paying out early on success for the Citizens. Spokesman Paddy Power said: "We've fully bought into the hype and can't see who will come close to Pep's lads this season. "Being at the Etihad feels like watching Guardiola's Barcelona side. So we're rewarding the shrewd punters that knew they'd walk it this year." The Citizens can be backed at a general 1/7 odds-on price at other bookmakers with the Red Devils back at around 10/1 which would surely shift a little bit of they closed the gap to five points on the weekend at Old Trafford. Everyone else in the league table is 20/1 or bigger against getting their hands on the title, so could this be the defining point of the season? The Manchester derby? Manchester United are a huge 5/2 price at Paddy Power to win the league game on home soil, that is what is ahead of them on Sunday, but Jose Mourinho's men have been perfect at Old Trafford this season with seven wins from seven. If City, who are 11/10 to collect three points in the derby, do win then they will set a new record for consecutive Premier League victories.

Hotshot Jackpot competition at Paddy Power

Paddy Power
Each week there is a prediction game on offer from online betting site Paddy Power which gives players the chance to land a share of a big jackpot. With each and every sports bet that a punter makes they are making a prediction, testing their powers of forecasting the future. That, of course, comes with a stake attached, a risk, but with the Paddy Power Predict 6, you can take a shot at big returns, all risk-free. The Paddy Power Predict 6 runs each week during the regular football season and as the name suggest you have to make six predictions. They are First Goalscorer predictions from the six nominated matches the bookmaker presents in each round.

What does it cost to play?

Absolutely nothing. The competition is open to all registered Paddy Power account holders

Making the predictions

There is a simple form to fill out in the Paddy Power Hotshot Jackpot competition where you simply predict the first goalscorer from a menu for each game. It’s a simple as that really. You can change your predictions up to the start of the fixture but not once the games have started. If your pick a player who doesn’t end up playing, it means that you won't get a shot at the weekly jackpot but could be in the running for the round prize of £2,500. All of the matches will be for a Saturday 3 pm kick off. You will have the option to select no goalscorer in a selected match if you think that it is going to end up 0-0.

The Prize

The prize is huge because the jackpot competition has a £250,000 pot and if nobody wins that they the bookmaker adds another £25,000 per round, up to a maximum total of £1,000,000. Once a jackpot has gone, the next round will revert back to the starting pot of £250,000.

The Winner

Any prediction which correctly selects the first goal scorer in ALL of the Hotshot Jackpot fixtures in a given round will win. If more than one player gets all predictions correct then the prize will be shared evenly. There is a consolation prize in each round as well because if the jackpot doesn’t go, the player with the highest number of first goalscorer winners (at least five) can claim a £2,500 consolation prize. There is a also a tiebreak question that you will have to fill when you submit your predictions and this will be the decider would two or more participants have the same number of first goalscorers. The top ten participants in each round of the Paddy Power Hotshot Jackpot will each claim a £25 free bet.

The Leaderboard

There is a leaderboard competition tied into all this as well which will be settled and closed after the final round of Premier League match of the 2017/18 season (13th May, 2018). The player with the highest number of selected first goal scorers across the entire season will then pick up a prize of £2,500 and if there is a tie, then the overall winner will be the participant with the closest prediction for the Hotshot Tiebreaker Question in the last round of the game will get the win.

Summary

This is a fun competition to go and have a shot at. The Weekly jackpot is huge and if that jackpot isn’t won then there is still a £2,500 cash prize that can be collected, plus the top 10 players in each round get a £25 free bet. So there's a lot going on and again, all of this is free to play each and every week. There is just the one prediction entry per week per customer. That is natural because you can only hold one Paddy Power account.

Theresa May trimmed for PM exit by Paddy Power

Paddy Power
With the Brexit negotiations not exactly going smoothly, Theresa May has been trimmed just a price of 5/2 at Paddy Power to step away from the job during the month of November. She is pretty much staring down the barrel of an uprising from her own party with it being reported that a hefty chunk of MPs ready to put pen to paper to give her a vote of no-confidence. Paddy Power also shorted the price on a UK General Election taking place next year down to 9/4 just because of all the uncertainty surrounding Number 10 at the moment. Labour’s Jeremy Corbyn is being priced up as the 5/1 market leader to be the new Prime Minister ahead of Conservative challengers Jacob Rees Mogg (6/1), David Davis (6/1), Boris Johnson (7/1), and Amber Rudd (10/1). Asked about Theresa May’s position spokesman Paddy Power said: “It looks like we’re getting very close to May Day, as Theresa faces the mother of all struggles to retain authority both in Europe and within her Party. “Given that she didn’t want Brexit in the first place, resigning – or being forced out – would be a novel new way for her to perform an EU-turn.” WHEN WILL THERESA MAY CEASE TO BE PM? November 5/2 December 9/1 Q1, 2018 10/3 Q2, 2018 7/1 YEAR OF NEXT UK GENERAL ELECTION 2017 25/1 2018 9/4 2019 2/1 NEXT PRIME MINISTER 5/1 Jeremy Corbyn 6/1 Jacob Rees Mogg 6/1 David Davis 7/1 Boris Johnson 10/1 Amber Rudd 14/1 Michael Gove

How can I request my own bet from bookmakers?

Bookmaker News
Bookmakers have started to put a fair bit of control into the hands of punters thanks to online betting opportunities. No longer do punters just have to go and settle for what is on offer in a sportsbook with a bookmaker, instead, now, punters are able to go and create a bet of their own liking and then simply go and ask for that wager to be priced up. It is nice to be able to go and call the shots to some degree if you think you can strike it rich. This increasingly popular new feature of being able to request a bet is allowing punters to get as creative as they like for their online betting. The ability to create a bet is largely focused on football matches and from stats involved in them such as the number of corners, both teams to score and how many assists a named player in a match will make. You can throw things like this together, and as many as you want, into a single bet.

How to request a bet

The one thing that all of the different request a bet features across different bookmakers have in common is that you will have to go and hit up Twitter to request a price. Each bookmaker is naturally running a different hashtag for their request a bet feature so all that you would do is look for the specific hashtag and which handle to Tweet it to and just send it off. Generally what happens is that the bookmaker will then reply to your Tweet along with a link where you can go directly and place the bet.

Coral #YourCall

Coral are one of the purveyors of this and their version is called #Yourcall. On all Premier League, Championship, Champions League, La Liga and Serie A matches you can create a bet from the following markets: Match result, Both Teams To Score, Total Match Goals, Total Match Corners and Total Match Booking Points, plus you have the options based on named players in the match as well, such as shots, tackles, assists and a player to be carded. Coral also offer the feature on NBA Basketball matches including Money Line, Total Points, assists, rebounds, 3-point goals, blocked shots and steals.

Ladbrokes #GetAPrice

Ladbrokes also run a version of being able to request a bet. So there you can combine your own Match and Play Stats markets. You can pick your bet from a from a whole host of stats like assists, passes, shots, shots on target and tackles, or any combination. The Ladbrokes #GetAprice is available every week on all Premier League, Championship, La Liga, Serie A and Champions League matches. Basically, if you can’t find a market that you want, you can ask Ladbrokes to create it for you.

Paddy Power #AskPaddyPower

If you can think of a market that Paddy Power haven’t listed on their site then you can go and ask them to price it up for you. With Paddy Power whatever you can think up pretty much flies as they state that they will offer you up a price on virtually anything. So even if you think you have a crazy old creation going on, the chances are that Paddy Power will take a look at it and offer you something. Just Tweet them and find out!

William Hill #YourOdds

William Hill are another of the major online bookmakers to offer punters the chance to request a price on a wager of your creation. Again you can simply go and ask the bookmaker to price something up for you. There is a list of sports that William Hill have listed that will be covered by the #YourOdds feature, such as football and horse racing, but even if you are thinking outside of the list then there really is no harm in just asking anyway.

Back Bets Created By Others

What you will notice at bookmakers, such as at William Hill there are even dedicated sections for the special markets that punters have created already. So if you are lacking the time to go and create one of your own then you browse through other bets that have already been requested by and matched for punters and just strike a bet as you would on a regular sports betting market and make the most of those!

Ireland v South Africa Rugby Betting Odds & Preview – 11th November, 2017

Rugby Betting
Ireland who finished second to England at the 2017 Six Nations, kicks off their Autumn Internationals with a home game against South Africa on the weekend. The Irish will be rolling out a new-look back line including the New Zealand born Bundee Aki who recently qualified to play for the Irish. Jacob Stockdale, after an appearance against the USA in the summer, gets his first taste of home international action as well in the game. Keith Earls is likely to miss the entire Autum Series in which the Irish go on and face Fiji and then Argentina. Head Coach Joe Schmidt has thrown form players into the mix for the game as the building towards the 2018 Six Nations begins. They are setting their stall out to look at new combinations over the Autumn. This is a good time to experiment. Ireland went to South Africa for a Tour in the summer of 2016 and came away with a 1-2 series defeat against the Proteas. Each of the victories recorded in that series by both teams were all by exactly a six point margin. There is an Ireland -6 handicap for 10/11 at Paddy Power going into this fixture. The Irish are a short 4/9 odds-on price with the bookmaker to collect the match win. Overall in the head to head between Ireland and South Africa, South Africa lead 18-6 with the one drawn match. South Africa put up a W2 D2 L2 record in the Rugby Championship this season, beating Argentina twice and remarkably drawing both games against Australia. Both defeats, were as expected against New Zealand. Flying winger Bryan Habana is missing the series to focus on the Sevens and the Springboks are under Allister Coetzee who was installed as head coach back in April. South Africa in total have played nine matches in the 2017 calendar year and from that, they have posted a W5 D2 L2 record but are without a win in their last four. South Africa are 15/8 at Paddy Power to win the game. The Irish have played eight matches, winning six and losing two of them, their defeats in that sequence coming on the road against Scotland and Wales in the 2017 Six Nations. They are on a four match winning streak, which started with a victory over England and Lansdowne Road back in March.

Paddy Power punters enjoy big #WhatOddsPaddy wins

Paddy Power
Punters cashed in a #WhatOddsPaddy wager at Paddy Power over the weekend. The #WhatOddsPaddy feature is where punters can jump on Twitter and ask the bookmaker to price up a market that they create. So punters can come up with bets based on things like the outcome of a game as well as stats. With such a #WhatOddsPaddy priced up at 10/1 on Chelsea to win to nil, Alvaro Morata To Score & Over 8.5 corners was priced up at the bookmaker ahead of Sunday’s big showdown at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Manchester United in the Premier League. The wager was jumped on by a total of 37 punters at Paddy Power on the weekend and so the bookmaker took a real hit with this punter-created bet. It seemed a simple creation in hindsight. Chelsea had only lost one of their previous 16 home games in the league against Manchester United and Alvaro Morata is the main source of Chelsea’s goals. But there was an even bigger #WhatOddsPaddy wager that came up on the weekend which was backed by punters. That was Sergio Aguero & Alexandre Lacazette to score, 4+ corners for each team and that was a price of 14/1 which 53 punters jumped on for Sunday's Manchester City v Arsenal gme. Aguero, now the top scorer in the club history of Manchester City has been in fine scoring form and netted from the penalty spot against Arsenal on the weekend before Alexandre Lacazette netted a consolidation for Arsene Wenger’s men. If you fancy creating your own bet, just go and tweet Paddy Power using #WhatOddsPaddy for a wager based on stats like those that punters cashed in over the weekend. There was a #WhatOddsPaddy market that came up as well from the Championship on the weekend at 22/1 which was a Corner in the 1st Five Minutes, Goal in the 1st Ten Minutes & Card in the 1st 15 Minutes of Wolves v Fulham.

Bookmakers closer to launching GPS based in-play horse racing

Bookmaker News
There was an interesting report recently by the newspaper The Guardian as is suggests that the UK bookmakers are getting ready to roll out some new technology for horse racing. The report said that through GPS technology, bookmakers will be able to roll out real in-play horse racing odds. Apparently, this is an imminent move forward as well with a “leading online bookmaker” getting set to launch it “within weeks”. Paddy Power and Bet365 do actually offer live in-play racing but that is managed manually, so this would be a huge shift for the entire industry to get everything automated. GPS position will allow the accuracy of a horse’s position on the track to be within around four inches and the information will be relayed back, all importantly, with a minimal time lag of 0.1 seconds or less. So is this the next new big technology to shake up the world of online betting? Reports are that this could add an extra 10% of revenue to bookmakers by adding around a billion extra on top of the £5.6 billion that the industry took on horse racing last year. As well as being able to pinpoint horses with amazing accuracy in a race, the application of the technology would also open up a new arena of statistics as well, with heavy post-race data allowing punters to really assess how a horse performed tactically. Bookmakers will be looking forward to adding a new tool to their arsenal of their betting product lines, but there are some concerns that it could lead to questionability over the integrity of racing and just last year, the CEO of Racing Australia wanted a ban on all in-play betting Down Under because of concerns of opening up doors of opportunity to compromise the integrity of all sports.

Odds slashed on May exit in 2017 after nightmare speech

Novelty Betting & Other Events Betting
There was so much hype over the importance of PM Theresa May’s closing speech at the 2017 Conservative Party Conference. It was supposed to be a rousing, uniting speech that would pull the cabinet back together and reach out to the youth of the country, that it was all set up for a bit of failure. And what a failure it was as her big comeback speech went down in flames and fits of coughing. May’s Keynote speech was so important after her cabinet was torn apart following the snap Election and while the speech itself lacked a punch, May couldn't get her words out because of an annoying cough and things got worse when prankster Lee Nelson walked on stage and handed over a P45 to the Prime Minister. The speech has left punters backing May to be out of a job sooner rather than later now. The Daily Telegraph, a staunchly Conservative based newspaper, labelled May’s speech as ‘simply a tragic farce!’. Amidst the fall out of the speech, Betfair has cut the price on a 2017 exit for the PM down to a price of 5/2 from 9/1 and May is a 2/5 odds on favourite to be the next party leader to leave their post with the operator as well. Backing up the potential fall of May is bookmakers shortening the odds on contenders to take over the role. Boris Johnson is now down to 4/1 from 5/1 to be the next Prime Minister, with David Davis sitting as the 11/2 second favorite. Jacob Rees-Mogg and Amber Rudd are around the 8/1 mark. Paddy Power threw out dds of 5/1 that May will be replaced in October 2017 and have a price of even money that she will resign with a year.
