Rory McIlroy returns to the PGA Tour this week after his venture over the European PGA, where he landed a win at Wentworth in the PGA Championship. His win took his world ranking back up to sixth, and was the culmination of a hot streak of play this season. McIlroy ha posted four consecutive top ten finishes over on the PGA Tour, six from nine events this season.

So he is trending marvellously well at the moment, as the golf betting attention turns to The Memorial Tournament this week McIlroy is running at 8/1 outright favourite, but as he has yet to land a win on the PGA Tour this year, there is good enough value in him at 6/5 to take a Top Ten finish at the event (6/4 To Place). He will be looking to make up for a terrible time last season at The Memorial, where he finished six over par down in a share of 57th.

Australia’s Adam Scott produced a victory last week too, taking a win on the PGA Tour at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial in Texas. Rounds of 66 on both Saturday and Sunday saw Scott get himself firmly in the frame for the win, and he took a play off win over Jason Dufner. Scott remains top of the world rankings with his victory and like McIlroy is tremendous value at 15/8 in a top ten finish bet this week, while he is running at 2/1 in the Place Market.

Other contenders in the field this week include Matt Kuchar, Dustin Johnson, Jim Furyk, Jordan Spieth and Phil Mickelson, while other leading Europeans in the outright winner market are Justin Rose and Luke Donald. Matt Kuchar is the defending champion in Ohio, after carding a final round 68 for a two shot win over Kevin Chappell. Kuchar hit 17 of 18 fairways during his last round at 7/4 in the top ten finish market.
