The Midnight Club Odds Grand National 2011

Horse Racing Betting

The Midnight Club Odds Grand National 2011 currently have the Willie Mullins trained charge out as favourite. This has largely been down to the fact that Ruby Walsh decided to take the hot seat, and The Midnight Club is currently trading from between 8/1 and out as much as 10/1 with Victor Chandler. Saturday of course will be the day in which most of the betting will go down on the field of forty runners, as the hype of the Aintree Festival grows to its climax at 4.15pm. That’s when one of the most spectacular sights in British sport, watching 40 horses charge all once to the first hurdle, will get underway. Come the home straight of the 4 mile 4 furlong race, The Midnight Club is expected to be at the front. Ruby Walsh taking the ride has made a different to the ante post price on The Midnight Club, who was being tracked equally with Backstage at one point. However, The Midnight Club, who primed himself well with a win at Fairyhouse back in February with a win, looks ready to lay down a firm marker in this year’s big race. The 10 year old has been growing in stature over the last year or so, but hasn’t had things all his own way, with only one win from four trips last year, the other three races his came in third. This will be his first trip to Aintree, but the Irish charge looks a solid bet.

Things currently look pretty open realistically though in the 2011 Grand National, and this could mean that there is a big price winner. The Midnight Club Odds for the Grand National 2011 are still decent value, and things could change come the start of the race, because Backstage continues to draw a lot of interest. Sir Alex Ferguson’s entrant What A Friend will no doubt have heavy backing coming in from Manchester United fans, looking for a double from their team and their manager’s horse on the weekend. There is decent value on The Midnight Club at the moment, but he could end up going as joint favourite, because there are issues over his stamina. The Midnight Club has not picked up a victory when going above 3 miles during his career, yet, at least, so this will be breaking new ground for him. His recent form is pretty decent though, and his win in Fairyhouse, going as favourite there in the Bobbyjo Chase, and beat out Oscar Time, who is also in the hunt for glory at the Grand National on Saturday. The Midnight Club held his nerve well, and naturally he has been specifically targeted for the Grand National, and there has been a definite improvement over his first run of the year. So there are positive signs about him, and with Mullins having trained 2005 Hedgehunter to glory in the Grand National, punters can get behind him with some confidence.

That second place finish at Gowran Park earlier in the year, proved that he is a very steady traveller, but he found something a little extra at the Bobbyjo Chase, hinting that his trainers may have just gotten him to peak at the right time. Should be a solid pairing with two times National winner Ruby Walsh in the saddle, and The Midnight Club could just be in the prime shape needed to take this race. The Midnight Club Odds Grand National 2011 means that he should be a contender, and is well worth a punt at your online bookmaker. He will be carrying 10st 13lb in Saturday’s showcase race at Aintree, and taken at the current longer odds of 10/1 at Victor Chandler, he is worth getting behind, as a favourite has won two of the last three renewals of the famous race.
