Today’s football betting tips look at the opening Saturday of the new domestic season in England.

For today’s football betting we have three selections from the Championship and one each then from League One and League Two.

It’s a big weekend of action up and down the country and we’ll start things off with a look at the action at Ewood Park.

Best Football Betting Tips Today: Blackburn v Swansea

Blackburn finished in 15th place in last season’s Championship as they struggled to get a totally convincing campaign going at Ewood Park.

It was a W9 D7 L7 record that Blackburn took on home turf.

In their two fixtures against Swansea, Blackburn took a point at home and suffered a road loss against them.

The last three meetings between the two clubs at Ewood Park have ended in a draw.

Rovers are undefeated in their last four such fixtures.

Swansea finished in fourth place in last season’s second-tier but missed out on promotion as they were beaten by Brentford in the playoffs.

The Swans built the bulk of their success at home but still posted a good W11 D5 L7 road record.

This has the look of being tight and another draw may be the way to go.

Draw at 12/5

Football Betting Picks Today: QPR v Millwall

Football betting for today moves on to Loftus Road where QPR are favourites to beat Millwall.

In their last four home fixtures against the Lions, QPR are W3 D1.

Last season’s clash saw them take a 3-2 win.

Three of the last four between QPR and Millwall at Loftus Road have produced at least 4 goals.

It was a top-ten finish for QPR last season and they hit some great home form over the second half of the season.

QPR won 8 of their final 11 home fixtures in last season’s Championship.

Milwall finished a couple of places behind QPR in last season’s final standings.

The Lions never really looked as if they would go much better than that.

Their form fell away at the end of the season, taking a W1 D1 L4 record in their last six games.

They struggled badly for away form as well, losing four of their final seven road fixtures.

QPR to win at 21/10

Football Betting Tips for Today: Stoke v Reading

The last three occasions that Stoke have hosted Reading, the matches have ended in a 0-0 draw.

In last season’s Championship Stoke finished in 14th place in the table.

There was just a lack of consistency from them across the entire campaign and often a lack of threat in front of goal.

The Potters failed to score in three of their final six league games.

They also only took one point from their final four home games last season.

Stoke’s home troubles generally happened against teams who finished in the top half of the table.

Reading was one of those, the Royals carding a 7th place finish.

They proved to be a tough side to knock over but didn’t win any of their final six road games of the campaign.

It is hard to see this one producing a lot of goals.

Under 2.5 goals at 8/15

Football Betting Picks Today: Bolton v MK Dons

We move on to League One next for today’s football betting tips as Bolton begin a season in a higher tier.

The Trotters did superbly in League Two last season to earn themselves promotion.

It’s been just a couple of seasons away from League One action that Bolton have suffered.

Their 2019/20 campaign there was blighted with troubles.

But they have moved on and are in a big rebuilding mode and line up on Saturday for their season-opener as the favourites.

MK Dons were mid-table finishers in League Two last season.

They claimed a win in just two of their final eight away games of the season, however.

From their three previous visits to Bolton, MK Dons are D1 L2.

They suffered a 1-0 loss there on their most recent visit in 2019.

Bolton to win at 13/10

Football Betting Picks Today: Forest Green v Sutton Utd

Forest Green had a strong season in League Two last term but missed out on promotion.

They played their way into the playoffs but slipped in the semi-finals in a thrilling tie against Newport County.

Will they be back as one of the stronger teams for this season’s League Two campaign?

Rovers are the odds-on favourites for Saturday when they play host to Sutton.

Sutton were promoted from the National League at the end of last season.

So they have tougher challenges ahead of them for this campaign.

This is no easy opener for them either.

All of the previous meetings between Forest Green and Sutton happened outside of the top four English tiers.

They were last paired up in the 2016/17 National League campaign.

Forest Green to win at 4/5
