Today’s football betting for Friday makes a return to the Premier League. This season is really trundling along at some fair pace.

So we will, of course, be making a stop into the top flight for a look at some football betting tips for today.

There is also action from the second tier to take a look at, as well as great action from continental Europe.

Here we go again with today’s football betting tips.

Best Football Betting Tips Today: Brighton v Burnley

This is a big game for both of these. More so for Burnley who are yet to have a taste of victory in this season’s Premier League.

It has been one point from a possible 18 that the Clarets have taken and they are not in good shape right now.

A 3-0 loss at home against Chelsea in their last league games leaves them with just three goals scored all season.

It has been an average of exactly two goals per game that they have conceded as well. Burnley are 10/3 underdogs for this trip to Amex.

Brighton are winless in their last five league games, collecting just the two points in that sequence.

So they are struggling for fortune as at the moment as well. But while they have been leaky at the back at times, they have been going well in attack.

The Seagulls have scored in all league games played this season.

With one point only from their three home games, this is touch and go. But it has to be a home win supported.

Brighton to win at 3/4

Football Betting Picks Today: Southampton v Newcastle

The Saints are one of the big early success stories of this new Premier League season.

They are playing some good stuff under Ralph Hassentuttl and collected a dramatic 4-3 win at Aston Villa in their last match.

Southampton had been coasting at 3-0 up at the half time break in that one.

But they had enough to get the points, moving them on to a W4 D1 record in their last five league games.

The Saints are 4/5 odds-on at St Mary’s for football betting today.

It may be tough to pass on that one as well. Southampton will be looking for their third straight home win.

The Magpies are not doing badly at all either, however.

Steve Bruce’s men have gone W2 D2 L1 in their last five games.

The one they lost in that sequence was failing to hold onto a lead against Manchester United.

Last weekend it was a 2-1 home success over Everton that Newcastle banked.

They are undefeated on the road as well are Newcastle this season, with a W1 L2 record on the board.

They could be stubbornly the opposite for the in-form Southampton. But we have to side with the bookies who have Newcastle pegged as the 16/5 underdogs.

Southampton to win at 4/5

Football Betting Tips for Today: Cardiff v Bristol City

There were wins for both Bristol City and Cardiff on Tuesday night.

Both of them needed those victories as well having put winless streaks of at least four games on the board.

Cardiff got their success on home turf against Barnsley, the Bluebirds getting a 3-0 win.

They are currently at 5/4 to pick up another three home points when they host the Robins on Friday night.

The Bluebirds have taken a W1 D2 L2 record at home in this season’s league, recovering from having lost their first two there.

Home and away it has been only one loss by Cardiff in their last seven league fixtures (W2 D4).

Cardiff did lose last season’s home game in the Championship against the Robins, going down 1-0.

Football Betting at BoylesportsBristol City are 9/4 to pick up the three points away from home on Friday.

That’s what they did on Tuesday with a 2-1 success at Huddersfield.

It was a pressure-relieving win for the Robins as they were winless in five just before that (D2 L3).

So that will have restored a bit of confidence.

The away form of Bristol City has been pretty strong this season, posting a W3 D1 L1 record.

The one defeat in that sequence came against the high-flying Bournemouth as well.

We think there is enough in this for the visiting City to get a point.

Draw at 9/4

Online Betting Football Tip: Werder Bremen v Cologne

We next go to the Bundesliga for today’s football betting tips.

Bremen are currently on a five-match undefeated streak of form in the division. But it has been a run of three straight drawn matches.

Those have all ended with a 1-1 scoreline, which will probably pique some interest in football betting today.

The one defeat that they suffered this season did happen on home soil, going down heavily against Hertha Berlin.

But they have recovered and have steadied the ship pretty well since then.

Bremen have a little head to head form going for them against Cologne as well. They have won their last two home fixtures against them.

They are unbeaten in their last four such games (W2 D2) and are 5/4 to pick up a home win on Friday.

Cologne is not in good shape at the moment. They are still searching for their first win of the season.

It is a D2 L4 record that they have taken this season.

Cologne have averaged a goal per game, but have shipped at an average of just shy of two per fixture.

That should open a big enough gap through which Bremen can squeeze.

Werder Bremen to win at a 5/4

Daily Football Tip: Elche v Celta Vigo

The final stop for Friday’s daily football betting tips is Spain. We are looking at Elche v Celta Vigo for a pick.

Elche are on a W3 D1 L2 record for this campaign, averaging just a goal per game. They lost last weekend away at Real Betis.

That snapped a great run of three wins in four (D1) that they had been on.

Elche have taken four points from their last two games, so aren’t in bad shape there.

They go into this fixture as the 12/5 underdogs however as they have dropped three of their last four home games against Celta Vigo.

The visitors though are in great form at the moment. They have gone winless in their last six fixtures in the top flight.

There has been a return of just the two points from them in that sequence as well.

Celta Vigo have battled to a D3 L1 record from their four away games this season. However, they haven’t exactly been lighting it up in front of goal.

They have scored only the two goals on their travels this season.

We think that they are worth taking on at 13/10 in the match outright. The three draws that they have taken away from home have been against teams in the bottom six.

Elche to win at 12/5
