The best picks of Wednesday night's football action

Horse Racing Betting

It is another big night of football on the European front. For today’s football betting tips we will be looking at some of the Champions League action that is going down.

Also for the night we will be dipping back into the Championship for some interesting matches there.

So there is a lot to drive through for football betting tips today and let’s start with some English interest in the UCL.

Best Football Betting Tips Today: Manchester United v RB Leipzig

The Red Devils came up big on matchday one as a late strike from Marcus Rashford got Man Utd a win at PSG.

Now the task facing Manchester United is backing that up in their first home game in the group.

United are 6/5 to win this home clash with the in-form RB Leipzig at Boylesports.

What makes this interesting is the lack of home form that United have in the competition. They have lost their last two Champions League games at Old Trafford

There have been four losses in their last six there as well.

The last time they met a German side, that ended in a 3-2 loss at Wolfsburg in the 2015/16 Europa League group stage.

RB Leipzig are currently top of the Bundesliga and despite selling star striker Timo Werner to Chelsea in the summer, look as sharp as usual.

The Germans will be in good spirits as well after having taken a comfortable 2-0 win over Basaksehir on match day one.

Last season in just their second appearance in the main draw of the Champions League, RB Leipzig made it to the semi finals.

They beat Atletico Madrid and Tottenham in the knockout stages to get there.

On the road in last seasons’ competition, Leipzig took a W3 D1 record in away games.

With the Red Devils hit and miss at the moment, the visitors may be worth a flutter.

RB Leipzig to win at 11/5

Football Betting Picks Today: Juventus v Barcelona

Unfortunately the hyped clash of a meeting between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi may not happen in this game.

Ronaldo is potentially out of action at the moment and could have to watch from the sidelines as his Juventus team mates play host to Barcelona on Wednesday.

This is the big game of the night on Wednesday and the bookmarkers are having a hard time splitting the pair.

Juventus or Barcelona can be backed at 13/8 currently to pick up the match win with Boylesports.

In their match day one fixture against Dynamo Kiev Juventus took a comfortable 2-0 victory.

With Andrea Pirlo in charge, Juventus haven’t been their usual sharpest selves in Serie A with only a W2 D3 record from five.

But they have only lost four of 42 previous home games at the Juventus Stadium in the Champions League (but three have come in their last ten).

The Old Lady have won five of their last seven games against Spanish opposition.

Barcelona are W4 D3 L3 in the head to head against Juventus, so there is very little between the two.

With new head coach Ronald Koeman struggling to get Barca fired up at the moment, this is a hard game to read.

Barcelona are only W1 D1 L2 in their last four games in all competitions.

The one win in the sequence happened on matchday one of the UCL when they thumped Ferencavaros 5-1.

With or without Ronaldo we see Juventus sneaking this one.

Juventus to win at 13/8

Football Betting Tips for Today: Birmingham v Huddersfield

It is off to the Championship next for today’s football betting. This is a look at Birmingham v Huddersfield.

The Blues are now winless in their last six league games, leaving them with only one win on the board for the campaign.

They have drawn four of theri last six games. However, with one point only in their last three games, they look vulnerable.

Birmingham are the second joint-lowest scorers in the division currently, but have the third-best defensive record.

So goals aren’t likely to be flying around at St Andrews in midweek. With Birmingham at 11/8 for the win, we think that they are worth opposing.

Huddersfield started getting their season together well, winning three of four (D1) in a nice little sequence.

That positive run was snapped in a narrow home loss against Preston on the weekend however.

But the Terriers are scoring more freely than Brimgiham and have won their last two visits to St Andrews as well.

The visitors may well be worth a flutter to collect all three points.

Huddersfield to win at 9/4

Online Betting Football Tip: Derby v Cardiff

There is more Championship action coming up in this next match. It’s Derby v Cardiff for us next.

The Rams have been having some major struggles this season with a W1 D1 l5 record having been produced so far.

It has been just one point from their last three games. They couldn’t hold onto a lead against rivals Nottingham Forest on the weekend.

Put that was a precious point in the context of things. In that 1-1 draw with Forest, Derby scored what was just their third goal of the campaign.

Derby are the 2/1 underdogs for this one with bookmaker Boylesports.

Cardiff are on a four-match unbeaten streak of form at the moment, having drawn three of those four.

But they look steady if nothing else. Their last two games have ended in 1-1 draws against Bournemouth and Middlesrbough.

Those were home games. So far on the road the Bluebirds are W2 D1 L0. So that’s a big positive.

Cardiff are averaging a goal per away game and should avoid defeat. Last season’s Championship meeting ended in a draw.

We will go the same way.

Draw at 21/10

Online Betting Football Tip: Sevilla v Rennes

It is one more game for today’s football betting and it is Sevilla v Rennes from the Champions League.

We are picking it because we can see a comfortable home win coming up for the Spaniards who are 8/15 to do that with Boylesports.

Sevilla took a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea on matchday one. To be fair it wasn’t a great game.

But the Spaniards should find the going a little bit easier back on home turf against Rennes.

The French outfit played out a 1-1 home draw with Krasnodar in their opening action of this season’s competition.

That has left them winless in four games in all exemptions, incidentally the same form as Sevilla.

But Rennes are big 11/2 underdogs for this away game.

We would have to support Sevilla, despite them not winning any of their last three home games in the competition (D2 L1).

They have won two of their three previous European home games against French clubs.

Sevilla to win at 8/15
