Heading up the market is TEGEREK at 7/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:17 GMT on Thursday, 10th December 2020).

It has been some good form produced by Jonjo O’Neill’s gelding this season. Tegerek is definitely an improver over the hurdles.

In his penultimate run, he took a course and distance win.

Going from a much bigger mark of 8lb higher on his next run, there was another very credible run from him to get third place in his follow up.

That was in the Greatwood Hurdle here at Cheltenham a month ago. There’s been another rise for him, this time of 3lb.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

BREFFNIBOY is in tremendous form at the moment having just secured a hat-trick at Leicester recently.

He has been flourishing under handicapping terms this season and it’s been four wins in his last five runs.

There will be another 6lb rise for him to handle, but given that Breffniboy is just thriving at the moment, claims have to be there from 7/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:17 GMT on Thursday, 10th December 2020).

We are going to pull CROOKS PEAK onto the shortlist for this contest. He is another that is heading in the right direction.

This will be the first run since wind surgery for Crooks Peak as well.

He was last seen claiming second in a Kempton chase and looks a great fit for the switch back to this sphere.

The race favourite for this Mares’ Handicap Chase is AGENT VALDEZ at 5/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:17 GMT on Thursday, 10th December 2020).

There was a win for her on her last run, scoring at Leicester eight days ago.

That was in some very heavy conditions and on the back of that she has a 7lb penalty to deal with now.

Agent Valdez secured that Leicester win by 28l. There has to be claims from here in this tougher challenge.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ARIAN looks to be a key player as well as she is looking to secure a hat-trick.

It’s been impressive stuff and she had plenty in hand on the most recent of those scores.

That was at Warwick over 20f last month and it was a 7lb rise that she handled in that one. T

here’s been more thrown at her here, but the current form cannot be ignored.

Arian looks the pick for us at 11/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:17 GMT on Thursday, 10th December 2020).

SWEET ADARE is another that warrants some respect in this one. She gets the cheekpieces on for this contest now for the first time.

We think that the extra trip for her here is going to pull something more out of her.

Sweet Adare recently made her chase debut at Wincanton and was seventh there over 2m which was way too quick for her.

The favourite for this year’s renewal of The Peterborough Chase is TOP NOTCH at 9/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:17 GMT on Thursday, 10th December 2020).

This will be his reappearance run for the season. He has won this race twice before, so he is obviously a top fit for this renewal.

Top Notch hasn’t been seen since January when he trailed Frodon home in third place in a Kempton effort.

There has been wind surgery for him during his break and no doubt Nicky Henderson will have him super primed for this.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

MISTER FISHER disappointed his supporters last time out as he pulled up in the Paddy Power Gold Cup last month.

He won’t want the ground to soften any more though.

But he was very good last season and a highlight was a fourth-place finish in the Golden Miller at last season’s Festival.

If he can find a bounce-back performance he should get in the frame.

We would also put FANION D’ESTRUVAL onto the shortlist for this one.

He looks a real threat and has been nothing but impressive since making his British debt a year ago.

On his reappearance run, Fanion D’estruval looked nice and sharp to claim a runner up place in a 2m Cheltenham handicap. We think he’s got the extra trip in him to make a bold run.

It has been three wins from four runs this season, including on her most recent effort.

She is under a 5lb penalty for this effort but warrants a lot of respect.

Her last run was at Fairyhouse last month which was her first go in handicapping over the fences.

Despite the penalty, she is still well under the mark here and should be a big, big player.

STORM CONTROL looks like an obvious pick for the short slits as well after picking up a win on his last run.

That was in November when he really attacked the fences here at Cheltenham to get a handicap win.

That was by less than a length and there should be even more improvement to come from him.

Despite not really having arrived this season, BLACK CORTON still has some appeal.

He opened the season with a fourth-place at Ascot. Nrxt for him, he lost his rider back at the same venue when he wasn’t jumping as sharp as usual.

Black Corton is usually reliable enough on his day to make a bold bid at this, especially coming down in grade.

He opened the season with a victory, a commanding one at that in a field of 17 at Punchestown.

That was an impressive enough win by 11 lengths that he has to be on the shortlist now.

He has been out at Cheltenham twice, taking a 5th place and an 8th place finish, but now looks at his best to get a serious challenge for a win.

KINGSWELL THEATRE delighted supporters last month with a course and distance success.

That means that he should be flourishing and come back for more.

He’s very familiar with Cheltenham, which helps a lot and with such a positive reappearance under his belt, Kingswell Theatre should be in the mix.

He could be where the value is at from 4/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:17 GMT on Thursday, 10th December 2020).

So too BEAU DU BRIZAIS who followed Kingswell Theatre home over course and distance last month.

That’s back to back runners-up spots for him now and he looks to be in good shape.

He is another that checks a lot of boxes to end up on the shortlist for this contest.

ON THE BLIND SIDE is the current 4/1 leader for this strong Handicap Hurdle* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 20:17 GMT on Thursday, 10th December 2020).

There was a win for him on his reappearance over a 3m trip last month.

That was in a handicap effort and now goes up 5lb in the ratings. The third-place finisher in that one Golan Fortune has since gone on to score over the fences.

So that frank’s the form of On The Blind Side even further. He’s a class performer.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

UNOWHATIMEANHARRY is another that picked up a win on his last run. That was on his reappearance run at Aintree after 8 months ago.

That success happened in November and all that has been taken on is a 3lb rise.

With a 7lb claimer on his back as well for this one, there’s every reason to believe that another strong run is coming.

We are also going to look at MOHAAYED for the trip. He was fourth at Aintree on his last run, where he found Unowhatimeanharry too good for him.

Mohaayed is very familiar with the Cheltenham track and on the back of his reappearance as well as being done in the weights, does bring place claims to the table.

We have one more selection for the contest and that is DELL’ ARCA.

He missed out on a hattrick last time out when he struggled to make an impact at Newbury having been poorly placed.

But with wins behind him at Aintree and Newbury over 3m this season, there’s no reason why Dell’ Arca can’t get himself in the frame.
