We have DISCORAMA as the 9/4 favourite for this contest, which is Race 2 from Cheltenham on Sunday* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Saturday, 14th November 2020).

He has secured a reappearance run this season which will help his cause.

It was a second place finish that he took on that trip which was at Galway in October. He was only narrowly beaten out by Milan Native in that one.

Looking back at the Cheltenham Festival in the spring, Discorama produced a brilliant run to take third place in the Ultima Chase.

That and his excellent reappearance puts him in the frame for Sunday in horse racing betting.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

WEST APPROACH was second on his last run. That was three weeks ago with Frodon getting the better of him.

He knows Cheltenham very well, does West Approach having hard 18 previous runs at the course.

He has finished in the palace in half of those.

So he is reliable and after a second place finish on his repparance and with a win in last year’s renewal of this fixture, West Approach is worth consideration from 9/2* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Saturday, 14th November 2020).

The other player for the shortlist will be the longer priced BIG RIVER.

He produced a very good run to take fifth place in the Ultima at this year’s Festival.

We think he’s worth revisiting. Big River pulled in this race last year.

This will be his reappearance run for the season and he’s only gone up 2lb in the ratings. So there are easily some claims there.

Race Favourite

This is going to be a wonderful 2m contest.

The impressive DEFI DU SEUIL is heading up the market at 7/4* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Saturday, 14th November 2020).

There are some huge claims from the top chaser.

He was the winner of this race in 2019 and he followed that up with a couple of Grade 1 scores at Sandown and Ascot.

The last time that Defi Du Seuil was seen was in the Champion Chase at this year’s Festival.

He put in an uncharacteristically below-par run, something that is very rare from him, settling for fourth.

But Phillip Hobbs will no doubt have him in top shape for this defence on his reappearance run.

Defi Du Seuil is going to take some stopping in what is going to be a fascinating contest at the start of this new season.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ROUGE VIF however is going to be our selection for this race at 4/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Saturday, 14th November 2020).

We think there is a lot more to come from him and we just can’t get past the excellent quote of odds.

Rouge Vif scored on his reappearance run this season, something that we have to note.

He didn’t just win, he tore a handicap field apart over course and distance just last month.

If he is anywhere near that kind of form, then he has every chance here. Rouge Vif is very progressive and we think, worth a chance.

The other more obvious pick in this contest is PUT THE KETTLE ON, another prolific chaser like Defi Du Seuil.

Put The Kettle on will be back for her first run of the season. She delivered a win in the Arkle at the Festival this year over course and distance.

She’s a superb jumper on her day and has a big chance of entering calculations.

Race Favourite

We are looking at a much bigger field here for this handicap hurdle in horse racing betting.

Heading up the market is TEGEREK at 5/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Saturday, 14th November 2020).

It has been a good early campaign from him. The Jonjo O’Neill-trained gelding took second place on his reappearance run.

He further confirmed his hurdle potential by scoring on his next trip. That was just last month here at Cheltenham.

It was a margin of victory for Tegerek by 5l as well.

The question here will be the very big 8lb rise that he has to deal with in the ratings. Is that too much in a strong field?

UK Racing Odds & Tips

EDWARDSTONE warrants some respect for the contest. He took a run in the Supreme Novices at this year’s Cheltenham Festival.

It was a solid run that he took there in landing a sixth place finish in March. That was, it is worth remembering, an exceptionally strong renewal.

Edwarstone is not on a bad mark at all and he was making rapid progress before that Festival appearance.

He notably goes for Alan King who has won two of the last three editions of this race.

We are going a little longer now for STRONG GLANCE who has shown some nice form this season. He is on a very competitive mark for this.

He has been in the frame in his two trips this season. Strong Glance was last seen at Aintree in a 2m 4f content when he claimed a second place finish.

Strong Glance goes for Olly Murphy and we think that the drop in trip could make him a player as a 16/1 each way poke* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Saturday, 14th November 2020).

This is another top 2m trip at Cheltenham on Sunday. THIRD TIME LUCKI is likely to be one of the most heavily backed runners of the day.

He is the current 6/5 favourite for this Trial* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Saturday, 14th November 2020).

His form has been fantastic and has really pushed on for David Skelton this season.

It has been two wins from two over the hurdles this season for Third Time Lucki. The latest of those wins saw him defy a penalty to score in a Wetherby novice.

However, he wasn’t really pushed all that hard in that Wetherby run, because it was to the point where it was comically slow. He will get a sterner test here.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

We are going to oppose the favourite with COURTANDBOULD who looks a tremendous prospect at 7/2 to deliver* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Saturday, 14th November 2020).

It has been a busy season for him and his form is right there.

It was his second place finish in the Persian War at Chepstow on his last run that really checks the boxes.

That was a brilliant effort from him and in many regards, that puts him as the one to beat for this Chtlenham trip. Two races ago he scored at Fontwell, the third success of the season.

The other one for the shortlist in this fixture is FOR PLEASURE. He missed out on a four timer with a really haphazard run at Kempton on his last trip.

His jumping form went out of the window in that, which will be a concern for punts. But he delivered that hattrick with a novice at Stratford prior to that.

We round off with a NH Flat contest which is the High Sheriff Of Gloucestershire Standard Open.

Heading up the market for the contest is WE SEEK HIM HERE at 6/1* (betting odds taken from William Hill at 23:37 GMT on Saturday, 14th November 2020).

This will be the fourth racetrack appearance for Gordon Elliott’s gelding and has easily shrugged off a disappointing debut.

It has been back to back wins for him since then, scoring at Galway and Listowel.

The cumulative margin of victory across those two races was 20 lengths. He’s the one to beat.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

GRANDEUR D’AME is another key contender. He delivered a win on his debut, a strong Newton Abbot performance.

That was a couple of weeks ago and the softer conditions may well suit him on Sunday.

The other for the shortlist would be CONCEROE who also scored a debut win. That was a success at Warwick last month from a 33/1 SP.

He shrugged off his inexperience to get that and on the back of that, may be able to feature.
