The current 5/2 favourite for this contest is ZHUI FENG* (betting odds recorded 22:05 GMT Thursday, 11th March 2021 at bet365).

There was a win for Zhui Feng 37 days ago on his latest run. That was a good effort in which he was keeping on very well.

He completely took advantage of being on the lowest mark of his career in that one. That was also his first run for his new yard and looks as if he could handle a 5lb rise.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

SKY COMMANDER is good enough to have a say in this one as well won his one previous go on the all-weather. He hasn’t been seen since June last year, so that’s a long 9-month break.

In that last race, there were excuses as he finished 8th of 12 in a novice. Sky Commander comes into his handicap debut and is worth watching in the market.

GOING PLACES picked up a very respectable third-place finish in a Kimpton handicap 46 days ago.

He did claim a win here at Lingfield back in January at distance as well. So he brings some reasonable claims to the table and should appreciate the quicker track here.

The race favourite for this 2m contest is LOTS OF LUCK at 11/8* (betting odds recorded 22:05 GMT Thursday, 11th March 2021 at bet365).

The most recent action that he had was two weeks ago when he took third at Huntington. After making a winning start to the campaign at Ffos Las it has been equally solid stuff since.

Lots Of Luck has placed in three of his four runs since for trainer Kim Bailey. He is dropping down in class here and is a big player.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

LICKPENNY LARRY was third at Wetherby last month and shaped fairly well in the contest. He looks to be on a very fair mark if he can get his jumping right on the day.

He keeps the headgear off and at Warwick on December 31st, he battled superbly well to take second in a chase.

DARLING DU LARGE has more about her than results have shown. She was disappointed last time out in a jumpers bumper.

Her one previous attempt at the fences didn’t go great either, but she only returned from a year off back in December and has two runs under her belt.

There should be more to come as she sharpens up further.

Heading up the market as the race favourite in this one is THE FLYING SOFA at 5/2* (betting odds recorded 22:05 GMT Thursday, 11th March 2021 at bet365).

It has been fourth-place finishes for him in both of his efforts this season.

The most recent of those was a month ago at Kempton in a jumpers bumper.

So he made the move back to this sphere where he should be respected. The Flying Sofa is on the kind of mark that should see him be competitive.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

FRERO BANBOU looks to be the biggest threat to the favourite. He wasn’t in top form at Haydock on his latest but has since had wind surgery during his break since then of nearly three months.

He is a former dual chase winner in France and the six-year-old may be worth revisiting.

MONSIEUR D’ARQUE is another that didn’t quite hit top form last time out, just having had a bit of an off day at Kempton.

Before that, he had taken three straight runners up finishes.

He made his breakthrough in this sphere at Market Rasen last July and he is definitely on the radar.

The 4/1 race favourite here is COBRA COMMANDER in what appears to be a very competitive race* (betting odds recorded 22:05 GMT Thursday, 11th March 2021 at bet365).

He has been in the frame in each of his last three runs, the last two both yielding runners up finishes.

So another bold run is expected and the extra distance here should help.

The big positive is that Cobra Commander has been making progress and has gotten better with each race this season.

So he’s not likely to be far away on a 2m trip.

CELMA DES BOIS had to settle for a runners-up spot at Chepstow on his latest run and he is 1lb down from that one. So we think that he is going to get in the game as well.

To be fair, overall he hasn’t hit the kind of form that he was in last season but could be heading back in the right direction.

If MIDNIGHT MUSTANG can produce the kind of form that he showed last time out in taking a runners up finish here at Leicester, then he can be right in this.

That was on a further 2m 7f trip and although the veteran hasn’t won since 2018, the blinkers really helped him out recently and place claims have to be there on the back of that.

He took a win at Doncaster last week, making a strong return to form by claiming the score in a big field. That was some fairer ground that he generally likes to work in as well and it served him well.

There’s a penalty of 7lb that he deals with now as he looks to be a real threat in this one now.

Our horse racing tip is going to be POL CROCAN who is super progressive and there’s a hint that the assessor isn’t on him just yet as he comes into handicapping.

Pol Crocan scored an extended 1m 7f victory at Wincanton last time out to complete a double. That was defying a penalty as well.

ADICCI is going to be the other name for the shortlist in this contest. He is only up 1lb from a runners-up finish at Wincanton last time out, under this same conditional jockey.

Adicci did open the season with a win at Fontwell, his first run since a wind op. There are serious claims here as the handicapper has laid off him.

He has had to settle for second in each of his last three runs. Brian Hughes jumps in the saddle to take over now and that’s a huge boost.

The latest run that Colonel Keating had was last month at Chepstow when he found only one too good.

With a big jockey change, he’s going to be back in the frame and is looking hard to oppose in this contest because of that.

OSCAR WILDE is coming down in grade and trip and that could help shake him up. He hasn’t been in his very best form recently but those factors could help him.

The last win that he took was at Sedgefield back in January 2020. Place claims from Oscar Wilde look to be reasonable enough in this one.

The final selection for the shortlist is going to be THE TOOJUMPA who has put in some credible efforts recently. The most recent of those happened at Huntingdon a couple of weeks ago.

There should be strong place claims rolling in from him. The Toojumpa’s reliable enough to get himself well into the frame.
