CITYZEN SONG is the current 10/3 market leader for this handicap effort* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on Thursday, 14th January 2021 at William Hill).

He will be looking to pick up a double after having claimed his third win in his last four efforts on his reappearance.

That latest win happened at Wolverhampton 9 days ago even when he didn’t get himself into a great position.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

MABRE takes on a 4lb rise as he was looking in a really good heart at the back end of last year.

He picked up a career best in claiming a win here over course and distance 25 days ago. The way the race played out was in his favour.

But it was a great run regardless and looks a threat from 5/1* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on Thursday, 14th January 2021 at William Hill).

ANIF is making a bid at a hattrick as he comes back into action. He is just bang on his game at the moment after winning here at Newcastle 15 days ago.

Anif showed great battling qualities in that one and he is also a three time course and distance winner. Anif can make his presence felt.

The market leader in horse racing betting for this small field OO DE LALLY at 5/4* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on Thursday, 14th January 2021 at William Hill).

This will be his reappearance run after more than three months off.

He claimed two wins from three efforts last year. The most recent of those was at Kempton on a 7f trip.

Oo De Lally comes in for his handicap debut with a 5lb claimer on his back. Trainer Andrew Balding has him steaming in the right direction.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

FAYATHANN comes in match fit after a score at Lingfield 11 days ago.

He takes on a 6lb penalty for that win, but most of that’s wiped out by Laura Pearson in the saddle.

So roughly at the same mark, Fayathann looks the biggest threat to the favourite.

MAJESTIC TEJAAN is a former course and distance winner, getting that on his debut last year.

He was last seen finishing well down the field at Southwell 35 days ago after looking a bit laboured.

This will be her handicap debut with something to find.

FALCON BROOK may have enough to push close. He was third in a handicap at Wolverhampton a couple of weeks ago.

That was after a win at the same venue back in October last year. The cheek pieces are thrown on for the first time.

SIR TITUS is the current 4/5 favourite* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on Thursday, 14th January 2021 at William Hill).

He should set the standard of this one after a recent run here at Newcastle. It was a third place finish that he took in a minor event over 6f.

With the drop in trip, Sir Titus is the main player here.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

EQUATE though does appear to be a big threat in his field. He scored over this 5f trip at Beverley back in September and it was a comfortable victory at that.

Equate has been away from the action for 121 days which means he’s not as match sharp as his stablemate Sir Titus.

SOUND REASON could be the other one to watch. He should be sharper after a course and distance effort on his debut.

He got away a bit slow in that one and never made up enough ground. Sound Reason has been away seven months and would expect to return in much better shape.

STAR OF ST JAMES is the current 11/10 favourite for this competitive fixture at Southwell* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on Thursday, 14th January 2021 at William Hill).

He carries a 5lb penalty after a score over course and distance 8 days ago.

He was just dominant in getting that career best win. On the back of that, he brings forward big claims.

Star Of St James is carrying a 7lb claimer so the penalty is technically wiped out.

He seems to be really thriving in the all-weather and could take some beating if he is back in the same mood for this one.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

CUSTARD THE DRAGON rattled the crossbar here at Southwell a month ago.

He has a superb track record here, having won seven times before at the course.

He was finishing well in that latest effort and should have enough to enter calculations. It’s 11 runs without a win, however.

We are going to look at NATIVE SILVER as the other selection here. He is a former course and distance winner and wasn’t’ at his best last time out.

In that, Native Silver claimed fifth of 10 in a handicap effort over C&D 17 days ago.

In his penultimate run, he was only beaten here by a short head and is only up 3lb from that particular effort.

First Excel should have strong claims here even though he is looking to score for the first time since 2017.

ARCHIMEDES is one to watch for in this contest because he seems to thrive here on the Fibresand.

He put in a very credible third place finish on a C&D handicap five days ago.

Another course and distance winner coming into action here is MAGNIFICA.

He claimed a win here in December but then was well below par on a follow up over course and distance 17 days ago.

That effort looked a bit of anomaly to the direction she has been heading in.

This will be the Fibresand debut that he enters and does benefit from a 5lb claimer on his back.

Marwari is worth consideration for the shortlist in what appears to be a very competitive race.

He claimed a win eight days over course and distance and he got the better of Red Strips in that effort too.
