Horse racing betting preview for Friday's top day at the Aintree Festival

Horse Racing Betting

Today’s horse racing tips take a look at just the action from the Aintree Festival on Merseyside.

It’s the eve of the Grand National 2021 and some big races are happening at the venue.

The biggest of them all, the feature race is the Marsh Chase (formerly the Melling Chase). That is one of a handful of top Grade 1 fixtures that we are having a look at.

So here is the best of today’s horse racing tips for Friday, 9th April 2021.

Included are racing odds and our tips of the day.

All times listed are GMT.

DUSART heads up the market for this contest at 15/8* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at William Hill).

He got a score on his debut at Newbury in November for trainer Nicky Henderson. Dusart kept on very well in that contest.

So there is plenty to come from the six-year-old based on that big impression.

The runner up from that contrast went on to win the Betfair Hurdle. So the form has been majorly franked.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

The biggest threat to the favourite appears to be THIRD TIME LUCKI. He went just a little early in his County Hurdle challenge at Cheltenham last month.

He was behind the opposing Belfast Banter in that contest. The track is likely going to help him a lot in this one, so Third Time Lucki warrants respect.

ANY NEWS looks to be the other to keep on the shortlist. He picked up back to back wins at the start of the season.

The second of those was on his hurdles debut in November at Bangor.

Any News really been pushed yet. He was last in action a month ago when he lost his rider at Kelso.

Race Type: Grade 1 Novices’ Chase

Race Favourite

This is a very exciting novices’ chase and CHANTRY HOUSE is the current favourite at 7/4* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at William Hill).

It has been three wins from four runs this season, and he is seeking a hat trick here for Nicky Henderson.

Chantry House is going to take some stopping, having only been beaten under rules twice.

On his last appearance, he won the Marsh at Cheltenham.

The move to the 3m trip is going to massively benefit him and he looks to have the edge in this contest.

That win at Cheltenham simply came because he outstayed his rivals up the hill.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

FIDDERLONTHEROOF should be well in the mix.

At the Cheltenham Festival last month he produced an eye-catching run to challenge in the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase.

He is a very consistent runner having finished second in five of his last six (one win).

Fiddlerontheroof’s last win was in November in a maiden chase at Exeter. He has enough to get in the frame.

We are looking for a little more from SHAN BLUE.

In December he picked up the Grade 1 Kauto Star at Kempton and found only Sporting John too good in the Scilly Isles.

Shan Blue didn’t get his race correct in the Marsh at the Cheltenham Festival last time out, his bid coming too early.

But a steady ride here for David Skeletons’ seven year old, and he can get there.

Politologue 3/1
Dashel Drasher 5/1

FAKIR D’OUDAIRIES is the current 3/1 favourite for the big one on Friday, the Marsh Chase* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at William Hill).

He was second in the Ryanair last month at the Cheltenham Festival and the ground looks perfect for him at Merseyside on Friday.

This will be the second attempt at Aintree for Fakir D’oudairies who has only beaten by a neck on his previous visit.

Fakir D’oudairies is a top chaser and is just missing that win for the campaign. But in all likelihood, he is going to be right there.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

POLITOLOGUE can’t be overlooked as a horse racing tip as the 3/1 joint-favourite either* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at William Hill).

He won the 2018 edition of this and last year he bagged the Champion Chase.

This is a return to this distance for the first time since failing to defend his Marsh Chase crown in 2019.

But with the Tingle Creek having been won this season, he is going to have a big presence in this one. He’s set for a fantastic duel with Fakir D’oudairies.

Our other selection is going to be the DASHEL DRASHER. He secured a hattrick in the Betfair Chase over Master Tommytucker last time out.

The conditions on Friday underfoot may favour his rival slightly more this time around.

But that was a masterful Grade 1 that he took to secure the three-timer. He begins some massive claims in a very strong field.

Race Favourite

This is one of those large Aintree fields.

It is the Topham Handicap Chase and the current favourite for this wide-open contest is LIVELOVELAUGH at 13/2* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at William Hill).

Willie Mullins’ 11-year-old has been knocking on the door recently. He was placed at Leopstowdown on his last two starts, so can be expected to put a good run together.

There is form over the Aintree fences as well as Livelovelaugh completed the 2019 Grand national in the middle of the field.

He looks as much of a reasonably of a strong contender as any other here.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

ROBIN DE FLORET is worth a look as he arrives with winning form behind him.

He got a score at Clonmel on his latest, which was just over a couple of weeks ago.

Robin De Floret is a good traveller and if he handles the long run in on the day, he could have a chance.

SENIOR CITIZEN was here taking on these fences in the Grand Sefton in December.

He was seventh on that effort but handled the conditions very well. He was fourth on his latest at Newbury.

In this big field, Senior Citizen is our horse racing tip at 10/1* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at William Hill)

SIR JACK YEATS has completed all three of his previous attempts at course and distance. That puts him on the radar for us.

He was runner up at course and distance last year at the Grand Sefton.

His latest effort at Fakenham was a little bit below par. Sir Jack Yeats goes from 4lbs out of the handicap.

On more for the shortlist in this big field is Venetia Williams REALM KEEPER.

He is red hot at the moment having completed a hattrick at Carlisle 19 days ago.

Having been cut back in trip for his last two has simply suited him perfectly.

There’s more to find in a stronger race here, but place claims are reasonable.

Race Favourite

The race favourite in this field of 15 is BRAVEMANSGAME at 7/4* (betting odds recorded 20:24 GMT on April 8th 2021 at William Hill).

He completed a hat-trick with a Grade 1 score at Newbury in the Challow.

That was a massive margin of victory by 10 lengths for the Paul Nicholls six-year-old as well.

Bravemansgame’s shot at a four-timer came down when he struggled in the Ballymore just a little bit to settle for third.

He is coming back up on a trip and looks to have a big shout in this one.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

BOTHWELL BRIDGE put in an eye-catching run for Nicky Henderson at Hereford 40 days ago.

That is two wins from three efforts over the hurdles now for him.

He has a great engine in him, and after that wide-margin win at Hereford piques some interest. The ground firming

The final section for the shortlist is CAPE GENTLEMAN who won the Grade 2 Dovecote at Kempton earlier this year.

He looks like a great prospect over the hurdles and has Rachael Blackmore booked.

Cape Gentleman has more in him and comes up in trip for this effort.
