Today’s horse racing tips are looking at only the National Hunt action that is in play from Hereford and Doncaster.

There is a card from Wolverhampton scheduled for the day, but we are staying over the jumps only.

MILANFORD is the even money favourite for this one* (betting odds recorded 22:25 GMT on Sunday, 10th January 2021 at Bet365).

There has been some good solid form produced by him this season as he has taken back to back runners up finishes under rules.

Those were both at the 3m trip (novices) at Exeter and then at Doncaster.

The Doncaster effort was up at Grade 2. There is big potential there and he is heading and should come very well as a smart chaser.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

THE MULCAIR put in a really courageous run at Wetherby in November as he was battling a smart chaser in that contest.

That was the first go over the fences for the Irish point winner and also the first go since a wind operation.

There has to be more to come from him and the value is with him at 7/4* (betting odds recorded 22:25 GMT on Sunday, 10th January 2021 at Bet365).

CHOOSEAWEAPON made a return after almost three years away. He pulled up in a Chepstow contest in November at 2m. There wasn’t a lot on offer from him there.

PORT OF MARS has potential as he comes in for a longer trip in this one.

He was third on his chase debut at Bangor and then couldn’t quite push on further when he went out at Ayr on a follow up in a similar contest.

Race Favourite

TRUCKERS PASS is the 11/10 favourite for this Doncaster trip* (betting odds recorded 22:25 GMT on Sunday, 10th January 2021 at Bet365).

He has knocked on the door in each of his four racetrack appearances.

Truckers Pass was out for his hurdles debut at Ffos Las on his last run, which was three months ago where he was left wanting at the end of the trip.

There should be strong claims here as he should strip a bit fitter this time around.

L’INCORRIGIBLE posted a win at Warwick on his hurdles debut. That was a novice effort over course and distance as well on his reappearance run a month ago.

That’s two runs, two wins from him and he looks to be the other big player in the field.

The other for the shortlist in this one is SOLWARA ONE. There was a win for the gelding on his last effort, which was a bumper at Uttoxeter 58 days ago.

There is a good pedigree behind him which does pique some interest as he takes on the jumps.

The 11/8 race favourite for this contest is FLAGRANT DELITIEP* (betting odds recorded 22:25 GMT on Sunday, 10th January 2021 at Bet365). He will be looking to secure a double.

He is off a 9lb higher mark after winning at Wincanton on his last effort.

There was some good jumping ability shown by him and there should be further improvement to come still.

Flagrant Delitiep looks ready to push on further in this sphere now after some steady and clear progress this season.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

VOLCANO has been hit hard by the assessor. There is an 11lb rise in the rating for him which is a huge amount to be battling along with.

It has been back to back wins for him, those scores coming in the 3m handicaps at Ludlow and Warwick.

The drop in trip should help compensate a bit for the extra weight. Claims are there.

The other for the shortlist is DUSKY LARK who showed up well on his reappearance run, his first since a wind operation.

He was second at Exeter on what was a return after 21 months ago. Dusky Lark clearly needed some competitive air in his lungs. Needs to be respected.

There was a win for him last time out as he showed up Uttoxeter 24 days ago.

There has been an 11lb rise for him to deal with, but some of that is shaved off by a 3lb claimer.

Shanty Alley did put in a highly promising run, scoring with some consummate ease last time out.

If he’s anywhere near that he should be back in the frame, despite the hike.

BIG NASTY is worth keeping an eye in this one. Taking on more than a 3m trip may well help him out a little bit here.

There was a good appearance run from him 37 days ago when he went on a run at Wetherby over the fences.

Big Nasty is worth a look at 7/1* (betting odds recorded 22:25 GMT on Sunday, 10th January 2021 at Bet365).

GARRANE gave a good account of himself in a second-place finish at Plumpton at this trip in December.

He hasn’t managed to get a win on the board in this sphere yet.

But he has been running with a lot of promise and Garrane has enough to get himself in the frame with a tongue tie and a visor helping him out.

There has been back to back second-place finishes for him on his two runs this season. Last term he won a bumper at Hereford on his only run.

Both efforts this season were over the hurdles, the most recent of those was at 2m at Lingfield.

In both of those races, he was beaten by highly-rated opponents. Mick Preston has a lot to offer.

SONG OF THE HUNTER was going very well here at Hereford on his reappearance run. He was really steaming along before he fell late on in a handicap effort.

He was bang in form at the back end of the previous campaign. A clean run and Song Of The Hunter should be about there.

CAWTHORNE LAD is the other selection for this race. He produced a good second-place finish over course and distance just 25 days ago.

That was his best effort for Jonjo O’Neill so far. The question will now be whether or not he can build on a much-improved effort.

She got off the mark on his penultimate fixture at Hereford in November. That was on her hurdles debut as well for Kim Bailey.

Getaweapon was then pushed onto 21f at Ludlow to follow that up.

There was another excellent run from her there as he claimed second place. She is sat on a good mark for his handicap bow.

FOUND ON is worth a look in this one as well. She comes into a handicap for the first time here and there should be more to come from her.

She picked up a win on her latest run when she was on show in a Leicester maiden.

There’s more to come from her and she is our 13/2 selection* (betting odds recorded 22:25 GMT on Sunday, 10th January 2021 at Bet365).

KESTREL VALLEY picked up a win on her latest run as she scored a great success at Wincanton last month.

That came from a big field and she takes on a 6lb rise for that. While we expect her to get close this is a much tougher fixture.
