MOTAGALLY has to rate a danger in this handicap contest on Monday as he looks for a sixth career victory.

He was last season taking a valiant fourth place in the Ayr Gold Cup. These are much calmer waters for him so he should be right in this one.

Motagally is down 1lb from that Ayr effort and should be heavily involved.

TREACHEROUS was involved in a competitive York contest last time out and went well in it, but luck wasn’t on his side.

There have been five previous course and distance wins from Treacherous who warrants some respect back at the venue.

The other for the shortlist in horse racing betting is OPEN WIDE who scored a comfortable win at Chelmsford on his latest.

He comes up 6lb and is a previous course and distance winner. Place claims are there.

This is a wide-open contest and BYZANTIA has put together enough recent decent efforts to warrant respect at Kempton on Monday.

She has rattled the crossbar the last twice, most recently taking a runner-up spot in a Lingfield handicap 11 days ago.

Another to watch for the shortlist in horse racing betting is PEARL BAY.

There was a third-place finish from her on her handicap debut at Sandown last month and sits on a good mark.

HOT CHESTNUT is another that looks as if she could go well. She’s had a longer break than most of the three, having been away for three months.

But there were a couple of very good handicap efforts from her in the summer. So the lightly raced maiden could take a step forward refreshed.

ROULSTON SCAR brings form to the table for this sprint as he is sitting on a hattrick chance for Monday.

It’s been two wins from three for Roulston Scar this year, the most recent coming in a three-runner event at Chelmsford two weeks ago which keeps him match fit.

So he looks a solid option as a horse racing tip. TARBOOSH is generally reliable under these sorts of conditions and he is a course and distance winner to boost.

He hasn’t quite gotten consistency together in 2021 but claimed the win in this fixture back in 2019.

Last year’s winner MAKANAH struggled to get into the World Trophy at Newbury three weeks ago.

But this is a much more reasonable target for the six-year-old and with that proven track record, warrants respect.

FOOLS RUSH IN is not to be dismissed in horse racing odds as he looks for a bounce back performance in this one.

He’s won four times in this campaign. He was well held at Leopardstown on his latest when seeking to complete a hattrick.

The form before that misfire should put him in this one.

Also worth a look for this competitive handicap is ON A SESSION who was narrowly beaten at Galway in a handicap back in August.

Having tumbled down the weights he suddenly looked competitive again and a repeat performance of that effort should get him close.

MUNTADAB has had a good season, picking up four wins this year. The most recent of those was on his penultimate when he led from the front at Chester.

He struggled to reproduce that form on a follow up here at Musselburgh two weeks ago. But Muntadab is notably a former course and distance winner and can’t be discounted.

AMALFI BAY has big claims in horse racing betting in this one. This is his best distance and looks to add to his latest win, which was in July at Epsom.

He’s had two runs since then, continuing to look in decent form in defeat. The return to this 12f trip gives him a big shoulder.

LOCKERBIE has enough to get herself involved in this one as she comes up on a trip. She’s a fair maiden who is in just her fourth appearance.

She was the last of four on her handicap debut at Haydock a couple of weeks ago, but this could be more suitable for her.

SUNSET MEMORY is worth keeping on side as well for this contest. She delivered a very good win at Sandown a month ago.

More could be drawn out of her as she is moved up in trip for what will be her first run on the Tapeta. She’s not without a chance.

It’s been four wins this year for him and he is 2lb from a second-place finish at Goodwood on his latest run. That sees him rated as a danger in horse racing betting for this handicap.

MOUNT MOGAN is thriving at the moment and has the chance at completing a hattrick on Monday. Wins at Kempton and Haydock are in the bag.

There has been a 3lb rise for Mount Mogan, but he is a former course and distance winner. There could still be more to come.
