He has come into some good form recently, picking up a win on his penultimate run. That was at Musselburgh in December when he made all.

He followed that up later in the month with a second-place finish at Market Rasen. Barnay probably won’t be too far away from getting back on the board.

CASH AGAIN also looks to be a big player in the contest as well. He collected a recent win at Sedgefield in December.

That was in a handicap hurdle where he showed great spirit to hang in and dig out the victory.

There should be place claims there, but being able to back up that success is going to be the big question really.

BLASTER YEATS had a good run on Boxing Day in collecting a second-place at Wetherby.

Despite missing the win he was well ahead of the rest of the field.

Sigurd is sitting on a hattrick chance at the moment after a big rise in form.

He has switched to some bolder tactics which has paid off in back to back wins at Catterick.

Sigurd scored with plenty of ease on the second of those wins, which was a month ago.

He takes on a big jump in the ratings of 14lb, but he doesn’t look to be out of the picture for that hattrick chance.

EVENT OF SIVOLA can’t be discounted from this race at all.

He was an early faller at Ayr last month on his latest run but he has been right in the mix for most of the season.

Event Of Sivola had rattled the crossbar in back to back runners up spots before that tumble.

The other that has been carrying good enough form to warrant a look is GAME LINE.

It has been three place finishes for him since joining his new yard.

So there’s positive form there and this will be his first effort since a 3m handicap chase trip at Ffos Las in November.

He could be nice and sharp after a good break.

We have a look at a bumper from Lingfield on Monday and THE UNIT is the current 15/8 market leader* (betting odds recorded 21:37 GMT on Sunday, 31st January 2021 at Ladbrokes).

He needs a bit of a bounce-back performance because he wasn’t great on his latest run which was in a Doncaster Chase at 2m 3f in November.

In the race before that, he did show that he retains some ability in a handicap at Wetherby with a fourth-place finish. The Unit certainly has a chance at the places here.

On his chase debut, he collected a fifth-place finish with incredible effort. He has won before on the flat, scoring on the Polytrack before.

We also like the look of WHO WHAT WHEN who does bring some good bumper form to the time, having won two.

The second of those was at Listed level. After scoring recently on his fourth attempt over the hurdles, the form is there.

So there is a 4lb rise after that winning effort in December for Crack Du Ninnian. The other win that he claimed was at Uttoxeter.

He should be back in the frame.

HOT GOSSIP enjoyed herself at Sedgefield in November taking back to back wins there.

That was in the space of a week as well.

She didn’t have a chance at landing the hattrick on her latest run as she lost her shoe at Ayr to finish in the middle of a pack of ten. Hot Gossip has claims.

There could be more improvement to come from BE THE DIFFERENCE as he comes back down in trip.

He caught the eye at Fakenham on his latest run, surging from the back to claim a third-place finish.

The headgear doesn’t go back on, but maybe the cut in the trip is going to be a factor.

It was a third-place finish for her, but she had been under a 7lb hike after a Newcastle win in her previous race.

I’M AVAILABLE is another that looks to have a big chance in this one. She powered her way to a score at Kempton in December.

She was back there on Saturday and was nowhere near the same level.

He completed a hattrick over course and distance in December. This season he has gone close twice and has to warrant big respect at 3lb higher.

WE STILL BELIEVE is the final selection for the shortlist in this contest. He scored at Newcastle nine days ago, taking full advantage of a gap.
