Today’s Horse Racing Tips & Odds – Monday, 27th December 2021

Today’s horse racing tips look at yet another thrilling day of action around the UK with more Grade 1 picks to come.

The highlight of the day though is the Grade 3 Welsh Grand National from Chepstow, with Secret Reprieve looking to follow up on last year’s success in the fixture.

There’s also top-level action from Kempton in the Desert Orchid Chase on Monday.

Along with more races from both Kempton and Chepstow, there are also picks from Wetherby for Monday in horse racing betting today.

So here are the best of today’s horse racing tips for Monday, 27th December 2021.

EVA’S OSKAR could be a big threat in the Welsh National field on Monday at Chepstow.

He looked superb in landing a 3m win here at Chepstow on his reappearance back in October. That was after a good jumping performance from him.

Eva’s Oskar is 8lb out of the handicap, but since that Chepstow win he has taken back to back second-place finishes.

The most recent of those was at Cheltenham and he has every chance of getting himself involved in his big one.

IWILLDOIT could have a decent chance as well here as he arrives under a 4lb penalty.

That is because of a win here at Chepstow three weeks ago. He bolted up on what was only his third attempt at the fences.

Iwilldoit is now effectively 10lb up but still a long way out of the handicap.

There could be more to come from him and despite the penalty, another bold shot isn’t totally ruled out.

DEISE ABA went well in the London National, taking a second-place finish to Highland Hunter.

He opposes that rival on Monday again. But Deise Aba is 4lb better off against that rival in this one.

Deise Aba has been right in the frame in each of his last three runs.

He’s not to be dismissed here with consistently strong performances this season under his belt.

SECRET REPRIEVE won the last edition of the Welsh National, which was hosted in January this year.

That was an impressive run and his chances of a follow up can’t be totally dismissed.

Although back to back wins in the race are rare, Secret Reprieve may have a chance.

The big question is not about his ability, it is going to be about the big absence that he has to overcome.

13:40 Chepstow Juvenile Hurdle Horse Racing UK Tips

FOREVER BLESSED should be a strong player in this absolutely superb Grade 1 contest at Chepstow.

It has been two wins from two for him in this sphere. Those wins happened at Ffos Las and Sandown.

The latest of those was by a massive 18 lengths. Anything like that again should put Forever Blessed fully in the frame.

PORTICELLO should go well again as there has been a lot of positive form from him so far.

After a win in France on his debut, he opened his account at Wetherby on his first run for a new yard.

With a good second place at Doncaster in a Grade 2, Porticello could get there.

SKYCUTTER could have a strong hand in this fixture as well after making it two wins from two.

There was very strong form from Skycutter in taking a win under a penalty at Musselburgh on his last.

He could have a big shout coming up in grade for this one.

This is a very strong renewal of this Grade 1 fixture and others to note in the contest are TEASE AND SEIZE, MAGISTRATO and SAINT SEGAL.

14:30 Kempton Desert Orchid Chase Horse Racing Tips & Odds

SHISHKIN is the clear favorite for this one. It’s been nothing but imperious form all the way from him.

Last season he won all five efforts over the fences.

The latest of those wins came in the Arkle at the Cheltenham Festival and he is just clearly the one to beat in this one.

Having been one of the top novices around last term, now can he kick on?

There has been a wind op for Shishkin during his break and may be very difficult to knock over.

GREANETEEN picked up a victory in the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown last time out.

That was a huge effort from him as well, taking the win by more than five lengths.

Without question, Greaneteen is a top-class chaser with a lot more still to come.

Another strong run from him looks likely. He lost to Shishkin in the Arkle and will have a tough time once again against that rival.

SKY PIRATE has some to find in form in this one. He was fourth at Ascot on his latest.

The two runs in defeat that he has had this season, have been with credit.

Sky Pirate delivered good form last season but this looks out of his reach.

BEFORE MIDNIGHT is another that is going to have to dig very deep into his well.

He has been coming along well over the fences and completed a four-timer last time out at Ascot. Before Midnight faces supremely tough opposition here.

KATESON was third at Aintree three weeks ago. That was on his second run for his new yard.

He won in heavy stuff at Aintree last December so the conditions could help him on Monday. There could be more to come after that recent effort.

TAKE YOUR TIME was at course and distance earlier this month and put in a good effort.

He claimed the win to complete a double after a score at Ffos Las.

Take Your Time has looked so much better at this distance this season and should be involved heavily.

GEORDIE DES CHAMPS brings winning form to the table as well after scoring at Uttoxeter on his latest.

That was in November and was the third in five runs for this campaign.

So Geordie Des Champs is very competitive at the moment. This will demand more but he is thriving at the moment and should make his presence felt.

CAP DU NORD returns for his first run since claiming a fourth-place finish at Wincanton.

He potentially needed that run under his belt. Last season Cap Du Nord was in superb form and took a superb runner up in a strong Newbury effort.

Cap Du Nord is likely to make his presence felt and was runner up in last year’s edition of this from the same mark.

CANELO looks like a good fit for this one as he has fallen down to his last winning mark.

Canelo claimed the Rowland Meyrick at Wetherby last December but hasn’t quite been back at that level since.

He was seventh at Bangor on his reappearance but was always struggling on his follow up in the Ladbrokes Trophy.

This is less of a challenge than that latest effort for Canelo however, so he could pull himself in it.

FIVE STAR GETAWAY was on the up latest season and could be better after a short break.

There is potential in chasing for Five Star Getaway, who was last seen at Chepstow in October on a much shorter trip. The extra trip should help.

13:55 Kempton Mares’ Handicap Hurdle Horse Racing Tip

CODED MESSAGE should be stronger for her reappearance and is going to be well tuned up for this.

She was fourth at Ascot on her repentance, a solid enough run and now she is down 2lb.

Coded Message won this race in 2019 and even though she was well held in third in last year’s renewal, she knows what this is all about.

EMMPRESSIVE LADY won a couple of times last season in mares’ events and was second in last year’s edition of this.

So there are claims there for Emmpressive Lady and the return to the 3m trip should help her. A reasonable reappearance puts her in this.

TEQUILA BLAZE comes up 5lb for this contest after claiming a win at Ascot last month.

That was on her handicap debut and it was easily a career-best from her.

So that hints that she is going in the right direction and can make her presence felt.

FRANSHAM collected a win on his latest run, which was at course and distance.

He took that ahead of Cornerstone Lad, who lined up against him on Monday. Fransham was very good over the hurdles.

He’s taken that form forward to the fences and brings a big threat to the party in this one.

CHEDDLETON has had a couple of good runs this season. On his handicap debut two weeks ago he took a good second place.

There were a couple of novice wins for him last season and he just looks to be great for his yard and poses a threat.

NUTS WELL gets on the shortlist in this one. He scored at Kelso on his reappearance run this season.

He followed that up well with a good fifth-place finish at Aintree in October. Nuts Well has been eased 1lb and should get involved.
