Today’s horse racing tips kick off a new week of racing action with selections from Bath, Hamilton and Newton Abbot.

That gives a blend of both flat and jumps action, as there are picks from the hurdles and from over the fences at Newton Abbot.

Race Preview

This is a wide-open contest with all four runners having some claims. The big question in it is whether or not EY UP IT’S MAGGIE defeats the handicapper.

She has been eased by the assessor after having lost a winning touch.

She scored at Carlisle in May and hasn’t followed up. But this is an easier assignment than what she has faced recently.

So a chance may be taken in horse racing betting on LADY CELIA. She has won before at Hamilton and landed a fourth palace at Pontefract from out of the handicap 11 days ago.

PEARL OF QATAR definitely needs to regain some status. The return of the visor is what connections are hoping will spark her again as she has dropped below her last winning mark.

ROSE BANDIT was third at course and distance just a week ago. This is a tougher ask and arrives 4lb out of the handicap.

TILSITT looks to have enough to make his presence felt in this handicap on Monday. It’s been three successes for him this year.

He was last seen collecting a win at Ayr 10 days ago. That’s two wins in his last three and looks to be right on top of his form at the moment, but gets handed a 6lb rise.

BASHOSH steps into his handicap debut in this one and is likely to be an interesting player on a return to this particular distance.

Bashosh claimed a victory in his first two starts and was lightly raced by Roger Varian. He’s not without a shout.

TARROOB looks like the other obvious selection here as she has been knocking on the door recently. It has been back to back second-place finishes for her.

For this one, she returns after a wind op, which could just give her that little back extra. The return to turf is probably a positive too.

DE MAZZARO will rate highly as a horse racing tip after scoring over course and distance on his latest. That’s a notable piece of form and is undefeated over course and distance.

But interestingly he is 3lb worse off against THREE CASTLES who beat him recently at Musselburgh. So that, along with a 7lb rise puts pressure on the favourite.

THREE CASTLES therefore could show well. He landed a score over De Mazzaro over a longer 1m 6f trip two weeks ago. He’s only up 4lb from that as he drops in the distance.

If he runs true to form then BLISTERING BARNEY should have a shout in this one. He should be better for an easy run at Haydock 25 days ago.

He was only touched off late in that, just missing out on his third win in his last six runs. Blistering Barney is still progressing well with potentially more to come.

Race Preview

This is a good competitive handicap and FAINT HOPE can make his presence felt. He pushed hard at Warwick a week ago against a promising one.

Faint Hope stays at the same mark and any repeat of form is likely to get him close. He opened this campaign with a win at Kempton and should be right there.

MONTY’S MEDOC was beaten by Faint Hope at Kempton back in May but he has continued to push forward with progress since then. After a break of 147 days, he could be sharp enough to contend.

DOCKPIKCEDME is top of the market in horse racing betting and he steps into his handicap debut on Monday.

He did well to get off the mark at the third time of asking over hurdles at Southwell in March. The handicapper hasn’t been particularly kind to him however

There have been back to back wins for MICK PASTOR this season and the Paul Nicholls’ gelding can be backed to complete the hattrick.

He looks to be rapidly progressing in this sphere right now and should have more to offer in handicapping.

DINO VELVET hasn’t been far away as of late for Alan King. He opened the season with a success at Uttoxeter on his chase debut in July.

He put things together well to take second at Cartmel a month ago but is likely to need an even bigger effort on Monday.

TIKKINTHEBOX has won at course and distance before and claimed three chase wins last season.

He has been in decent shape this season but will need to bounce back after a rare blip last time out.

BALLINKSER won his penultimate effort, a 2m handicap hurdle at Southwell in June. He produced an absolute shocker of a follow-up, however.

ANCIENT TIMES comes up 3lb and rates as a big player for horse racing betting on Monday. He has been in the frame a lot this season.

There was a good win at Epsom in August recorded by Ancient Times and three of those behind him in that one have since gone on to win.

RUBY COTTAGE has taken three straight second-place finishes after winning over course and distance in July. She generally puts in a good run here at Bath so has to be on the shorts for Monday.

VANDAD has shown some promise this season, completing a double this season.

He was last seen here in a handicap taking a third-place finish. This is a tougher ask for him, but Vandad looks to be heading in the right direction.
