Today’s horse racing tips for Monday will look at races from Catterick and Wolverhampton. Those are the only UK fixtures left running for the day.

But that still provides us with plenty of horse racing action to get stuck into and we have a mix of national hunt and flat racing to enjoy.

Heading up this market currently is MICK MAESTRO at 9/4* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 27th December 2020 at William Hill).

He was a flapper on his last effort which was at Doncaster just a couple of weeks ago. Before the tumble Mick Maestro was shaping very well and in the mix. That slip up came after he had easily one a 2m trip at the same venue.

Mich Maestro is coming back into action at the same make and considering he was leading when he fell, he’ll likely enter calculations at the business end of things on Monday.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

THE RUSSIAN DOYEN is an interesting player in the field. He is making the switchback to hurdles and is 3lb lower than when he scored last.

He has failed to complete his last two runs. But he had opened the season over the hurdles with a third place at Fontwell.

STAINSBY GIRL looks the pick for us at 13/2* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 27th December 2020 at William Hill).

She opened the campaign with a good score at Hexham in November, continuing rising form from the end of last season.

But she struggled on her follow up, not staying focused. She can bounce back though.

This will be her second NH appearance after a promising second on her debut.

That was in a novice Hurdle at Wincanton from a field of 14. The winner of that once has since gone on to more, franking the form of Sashenka.

We expect her to go well.

ANYTHINGFORLOVE made very good progress on her last outing. She scored a 2m novice effort at Lingfield a month ago.

The tongue tie goes on for the first time and having been such a keen winner, Anythingforlove, a dual bumper winner, looks the way to go at 11/8* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 27th December 2020 at William Hill).

The other for the shortlist is BIOVERDIA who has her first run for Laura Morgan.

She was coming along well for Gordon Elliott in Ireland, although her last run for the trainer was well below par.

But if Bivoerdia bounces back with a spark for her new yard, she has the tools to win this.

It’s a nice big field and he should be a pretty big player in it.

He has been out over the fences recently which included a second place effort at Sedgefield on his last fixture.

Event of Sivola was well clear of any time behind him in that one. There is a 3lb rise for him to deal with, but he certainly looks strong enough for the shortlist.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

UISCE UR may have a say in this one. He gets Brain Hughes on his back and he is 2lb lower than he was for his last run.

That was on a yard debut for Ben Pauling in a 3m handicap chase at Ludlow. Uisce Ur ran well there to claim a solid fifth a month ago.

There should be more to come.

The other that we throw on the shortlist is ISKABEG LANE who also fought on his last run. That was his season opener at Sedgefield 24 days ago.

He’s not been the most reliable of jumpers, and he looked like he needed the air in his lungs. A 3lb claimer in Sam Coltherd could help him out.

ROCKLEY POINT is a narrow 5/1 favourite for this Newcastle sprint on Monday* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 27th December 2020 at William Hill).

He has produced some consistent form this season and is a former course and distance winner. That last win that he took was at Catterick in October.

On his last effort Rockley Point was here at Newcastle when he was second to DEOLALI a week ago. The consistency that he has shown has to be him right back in the frame.

With DEOLALI having beaten Rockley Point here a week ago then it is likely that he will have another good run.

The step up to a 7f trip as well is likely to further play to some of Deolali’s strengths. There is a 5lb penalty which he is carrying, but he looks a big threat.

The other for the shortlist in this big field will be INNER CIRCLE who hasn’t won since last year.

But there has been decent form from him and carries a 5lb claimer as well.

It’s been a solid season from him, but will need to bounce back a little from a below-par effort at Wolverhampton a couple of weeks ago.

He carries a 6lb penalty after collecting a score at Southwell recently.

That victory was recorded 8 days ago and it was a comfortable score for him as well. That was the third win from 13 runs this year.

With it being his career best and having been going on strongly at the finish, he has to feature.

INSURPLUS is worth keeping an eye on in the market as well. He is a former course and distance winner and was last in action here.

That was on a 6ft trip and stays at the same rating. So that is likely to put him right in the frame and 7f is his best distance as well.

We think there’s value there at 9/2* (betting odds recorded 23:37 GMT on Sunday, 27th December 2020 at William Hill).

The other that we will look at for the shortlist is NORDIC FIRE. He hasn’t won in 14 trips now, but there was a nice bit of form developed by him last time out.

That was a second place from a field of 14 three weeks ago. That run was at a mile and the 7f trip instead is likely to be right in his wheelhouse.
