Today’s Horse Racing Tips & Odds – Monday, 2nd August 2021

With the thrills of last week’s Goodwood Festival done and dusted, things are a little calmer for today’s horse racing tips.

On Monday we are looking at handicap action from Windsor and Ripon for our selections.

There’s no top action around, the pick of the races being a Class 2 Sprint Handicap Final from Windsor.

We will kick off the best of today’s horse racing tips for Monday, 2nd August 2021 with that one.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This is the Fitzdares Spring Series Final handicap from Windsor and this looks super competitive.

We are pulling towards the course and distance specialist EDRAAK to once again come up trumps at Windsor.

Edraak is a quote of 4/1 in today’s horse racing betting* (betting odds recorded 21:56 GMT on July 31st 2021 at William Hill)

He has won twice at C&D and the most recent of those was pretty comfortable as well. That was the third win of a very good season for him under Michael Appleby.

Edraak should be right in the thick of this. So too CAPOTE’S DREAM who is another running on a very good campaign.

He too is a course and distance winner and has moved his total on to four successes from seven runs in 2021. The best of those was on his latest, taking down a big field at York three weeks ago.

The final selection for the shortlist is the consistent BE PREPARED.

He was last seen just five days ago taking a good place finish in a big field at Goodwood. Place claims are there for him at Windsor on Monday.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

MACHO PRIDE takes preference at 11/4 in this one* (betting odds recorded 21:56 GMT on July 31st 2021 at William Hill).

He looks like he is due for another bold run, in what looks like a good strong race here. There will be challenges.

But a win at Haydock on his last outing gives him form and he is 18lb better off than rival INTRINSIC BOND.

So even though Macho Pride does come up 6lb the 3-year-old looks a good fit in a competitive fixture.

As for Intrinsic Bond, he carries a threat. But there has been a big 10lb rise for him after winning at Catterick almost three weeks ago.

He appears to be a class act but that’s a big weight to overcome against some strong runners here. As for the final shortlist consideration, that is BOSSIPOP.

There was an improved run from him on the weekend as he collected a second-place finish at Hamilton.

While he has to deal with a quick turnaround, Bossipop is a four-time course and distance winner.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

There are plenty who are in with a strong chance in this wide-open handicap by the looks of things.

RUM RUNNER at 11/2 just gets the nod as a horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 21:56 GMT on July 31st 2021 at William Hill).

There was an excellent run from him a month ago to take second place here at Ripon in a 1m handicap.

The extra bit of trip could well help him as he looks to get off the mark for the first time this year. He is 15lb down from his last winning mark and that has to pay off sooner rather than later.

BRIARDALE is of interest as well after cruising to a course and distance win in July. Everything went his way in that fixture and got an 8lb rise for his wide-margin success.

DELPH CRESCENTE should thrive in these good conditions. He was third here behind Briardale on his latest run.

But with Briardale getting bumped up in the weights, that could help Delph Crescente close the gap somewhat.

Today’s Horse Racing Tip

It has been one win for ASCOT DAY in three runs this year. That victory happened at Epsom last month.

He followed that up with a good runner-up spot in a Chepstow contest 24 days ago.

He stays at the same mark and just takes preference at 11/4 for this contest* (betting odds recorded 21:56 GMT on July 31st 2021 at William Hill).

This is a tricky contest to size up actually. ACT OF MAGIC looks set to produce a decent effort here and he should be helped by the conditions.

It’s been consistent running from him, despite him sitting on a winless streak. At the very least Act Of Magic has place claims.

The final shortlist pick is FIREWATER, although he would need the conditions to ease a little bit.

He is 2lb drown from a 7th place finish at Chester three weeks ago as he didn’t really get into his stride.

LETHAL BLAST is the selection at 9/2 to look at* (betting odds recorded 21:56 GMT on July 31st 2021 at William Hill).

She went well on his latest run at Windsor, earning a second-place finish. Earlier this year she did land a hattrick at Lingfield, so has produced form.

She was back at that venue for her latest but had an off day. There’s no reason why she couldn’t bounce back to success on a return to Windsor.

THE DALEY EXPRESS is 4lb down from his last winning mark, which was back in September last year.

He was another who was below his best on his latest, falling to get going at Nottingham. But The Daley Express is on a very threatening mark.

Another with some decent consistent form is BELLEVARDE who has a 5lb claimer as support. She is a course and distance winner as well.

On her latest, which was at Wolverhampton, Bellevarde produced a good finish in the middle of the pack. Place claims are there.

GLEN ESK looks to be the pick of the bunch in this handicap.

He is the current 15/8 favourite* (betting odds recorded 21:56 GMT on July 31st 2021 at William Hill).

He is sitting on a hattrick chance and that winning streak was kicked off at course and distance. The follow up was delivered at Haydock.

Glen Esk has only been handed an extra 1lb for the latest of those wins, so he likely will once again go strongly.

PHOTOGRAPH merits respect in this one under Oisin Murphy. The step up to 1m 2f should help his cause as well.

Photograph has been moving along well in good form recently, including a score at Redcar on his penultimate run.

The final shortlist selection is CARP KID who is a previous course winner. The last win that he picked up was three runs ago at Lingfield in June.

There is a 3lb claimer to help out his cause and there are decent place claims for Carp Kid.
