Today’s Horse Racing Tip

This should be quite the warm contest with some good strong players including FANTASY BELIEVER, RIVER DAWN and UZINCSCO.

But our preference is for ALPINE MISTRAL at 7/2* (betting odds recorded 22:15 GMT May 2nd 2021 at Bet365).

She was in cracking form during the previous campaign and returns from a break of 208 days.

But Alpine Mistral was superbly versatile last season and returns at 9lb higher, which is a mark of her progress. That was a career-best effort for her in scoring on her final run of last year.

That was at Nottingham in some testing conditions. But there is a chance that she will turn up with even more to offer.

This race could go anywhere because we think that it is so wide open. YANKEE STADIUM heads the market and does look like he needs to be respected on his handicap debut. The cheekpieces are on for the first time.

But we are going to swing to ZIHAAM as a 12/1 each-way selection* (betting odds recorded 22:15 GMT May 2nd 2021 at Bet365).

He has plenty of successful memories at this venue, having won five times before at Beverley.

There wasn’t much on offer for him at Newcastle on his last run, which was 18 days ago, but the return to this venue could offer something.

The cheekpieces are back on as well for Zihaam. Following a couple of uneventful contests this season from him, he is now back at his last winning mark.

The preference in this contest is the 7/2 option of FIDELIO VALLIS* (betting odds recorded 22:15 GMT May 2nd 2021 at Bet365).

He is coming into his handicap debut and looks to be on a good competitive mark. He was last seen at Southwell in a novice last month, scoring an easy win there.

That followed a score at Fontwell in a maiden. So he is on the up for trainer Paul Nicholls right now and has course experience.

Fidelio Vallis placed in a listed run at Kempton last year and looks to be really getting things together over the fences now. He could be the one to beat after having produced some impressive recent runs.

There are a lot of reasonable claims from this big field at Windsor on Monday. There’s a few to dig into.

However, we just have to go with NOBLE MASQUERADE as the 2/1 favourite as a horse racing tip* (betting odds recorded 22:15 GMT May 2nd 2021 at Bet365).

On his reappearance, he was third in a field of 11 in a handicap. But had he gotten a clear run, he should have shaped well enough to really be in the frame for the win.

So we do expect a good bold run coming from him. The winner of that recent Nottingham fixture has gone on to win again, franking his form.

At the end of the day, that was a good workout for him, and Noble Masquerade is entitled to come on further for it.

The other big threats in this field are EAGLESGLEN and CARP KID. It should be a warm one.

There is a lot of interest in this one for KEEP MOVING who has slid to a mark where he surely has to be very competitive. The Phillip Hobbs gelding is also a course and distance winner.

We also see strong efforts potentially coming from WHOSHOTWHO and GO STEADY in this one.

He looks capable enough in this one after getting the second chance win of his career at Leicester in March.

There was another good run from him at Ludlow after that victory, taking a second-place finish. On the evidence of those recent runs, Somekindofstar has a good chance of getting in the mix. He arrives in some very good heart.

However, CHAMPAGNE CITY, after a recent course and distance victory at the end of March appeals just a little more.

There has been a 5lb rise for that recent win here and the condition underfoot are likely going to play to his advantage here.

Champagne City is a good front runner and the rest of the field would be remiss to let him get to the front and dictate this one.
