GRACES ORDER is the current 2/1 favourite for this Carlise novices’ hurdle* (betting odds recorded 22:26 GMT on Sunday, 7th February 2021 at Bet365).

As a filly she claimed a bumper win at Sedgefield in March and on her reappearance run, she put in a positive start for the first time over the hurdles.

That was a third-place finish for Graces Order at Wincanton in that run, which was two months ago. The longer trip is likely to pull even more potential from her.

FAIRFIELD FERRATA is another big player in this field.

The former jumper winner has since moved on to the hurdles, scoring a best finish with a second-place finish at Hexham in a 2m novice trip.

There was a dreadful run from her on her follow up at Wetherby where she didn’t complete. But at her best, she’s a threat.

This is not the greatest of fields to be fair. So our final selection for the shortlist is DREAM OVER who is a dual pointer winner.

That was the situation for her on her latest run when she claimed the win at Alnwick on a 3m trip in December. Dream Over is with her new yard for the first time today and piques some interest.

JACK VALENTINE is the market leader in this novices’ handicap chase at 7/4* (betting odds recorded 22:26 GMT on Sunday, 7th February 2021 at Bet365).

He will be looking for a double as well after scoring well on his chasing debut at Leicester on his last effort.

There is a 6lb rise now for him, but that looks reasonable enough.

Jack Valentine did score with some left in the tank at Leicester and the 8 year old has a big chance of another win here.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

OVERCOURT does look to be an obvious threat to the favourite.

He was coming on strong at the end of last season and has made a positive start to this one.

On his chasing debut, also his reappearance, he scored a second-place finish in a Sedgefield maiden in October.

Overourt showed plenty of promise there and hasn’t been harshly treated in the handicapping.

O’HANRAHAN BRIDGE makes the move back to the fences now as he looks to find a bit of improvement.

He never got himself going over the hurdles at Ayr on his latest effort.

But the thing that piques interest is that he scored a 3m handicap hurdle win here at Carlisle in November.

It is a small field and one that is dominated in horse racing betting by KAPGA DE LILY at 4/7 odds-on* (betting odds recorded 22:26 GMT on Sunday, 7th February 2021 at Bet365).

That’s not surprising at all as she completed a four-timer with a success at Chepstow last time out. That was on a 3-mile handicap trip.

But Kapga De Lily got that victory by a whopping 35l and was just in a class of her own.

Kapga De Lily is hot right now and has every chance of securing that five-timer. She has to deal with a 10lb rise.

The main threat to the favourite is LEVEROCK LASS at 10/3* (betting odds recorded 22:26 GMT on Sunday, 7th February 2021 at Bet365).

She was the only one to complete in a 3m Wetherby handicap in December, giving her the victory.

Leverlock Lass is 4lb out the handicap here but showed good stamina on her latest effort.

HAUL US IN was sixth on her latest run which was at Bangor and she looked as if she needed that one as well to get rust out. She’s not totally to be discounted here on the back of that reappearance.

FINAL REMINDER brings up the field. She needed her reappearance run too by the looks of it, which was a chase debit at Kelso in December. That was just her second run since December 2018.

The race favourite for this Plumpton trip is CALL OFF THE DOGS at 4/1* (betting odds recorded 22:26 GMT on Sunday, 7th February 2021 at Bet365).

He scored on his penultimate run, a December handicap hurdle at Fontwell from a field of nine. That saw him continue to make good progress.

There was another good run from Call Off The Dogs to follow up as he scored a third-place finish on an extended 20f trip here last month.

He’s looking very progressive in this sphere.

But we are going to sidestep the favourite in favour of CROWN HILL at 7/2 from right at the top of the weights.

He went up 4lb after a very good second place at Huntingdon on his latest effort.

On the back of that, he warrants some huge respect, because he shaped so very well there and was only narrowly edged out.

BLACK CENTAUR will be the other obvious selection for the shortlist in this fixture.

He will look to build on a second-place finish at Hereford in December. He was well ahead of everyone else behind him on the day.

He’s with his third yard now, but that was the best he has run for a fair while, so there could be something to build on.

That puts him well ahead of the field and the 7 year old looks in fine nick at the moment.

On his reappearance this season he took a runner up finish in a Market Rasen handicap hurdle.

He was at Hereford still over the hurdles for his follow up when Demopolis got the win under his belt.

This will be the second go at the fences for Demopolis, who won on his chase debut.

UK Racing Odds & Tips

FERROBIN is worth a look in this one because has won a couple of times at this distance.

He picked up a Market Rasen 2m handicap in December.

He has since followed it up with a couple of solid runs since over the hurdles. The one concern is that Ferrobin failed to complete his previous go in this sphere.

FLAMINGER could pose a threat having come down in class and weights.

Having struggled in higher realms this season, he’s eased back to some calmer waters.

That should make him dangerous. Flaminger did pick up a win on his reappearance this season at Fontwell.

There was a second-place finish for the Charlie Appleby-trained gelding at Chelmsford City just over two weeks ago. It was a really good work out for him.

It followed a win at Kempton in December in a novice event and has clearly pushed on since then.

The cheekpieces go on for the first time and Secret Victory should enter calculations.

MAYMONT is a stronger option at 3/1 for us however* (betting odds recorded 22:26 GMT on Sunday, 7th February 2021 at Bet365).

He scored a win at course and distance in December so he warrants some respect.

That was followed by a Chelmsford City second and he had every chance.

The other selection will be KASER who has won five times at Wolverhampton before.

Because his form hasn’t been great lately, he has fallen down to what could be a very competitive mark.

He has Hollie Doyle in the saddle and he may be worth a chance after running very wide here last month.
